Superior VCM3026: a 26 inch vent-free gas fireplace that fits in a wall less than a foot deep
The Superior VCM3026 is a small vent-free gas fireplace built into the wall. It is 26 inches wide and under 10 inches deep, so it fits into a wall in a room that is already finished. A single row of yellow flames dances through the ceramic fiber logs. It puts out up to 26,000 BTU.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Vent-free means it needs no chimney or vent pipe at all, and nearly all the heat stays in the room. It comes complete. A full size ceramic fiber log set, a dual burner, and an arched screen with a louvered front are all in the box. On the page you choose the control. The thermostat version turns itself on and off to hold the room at the temperature you set. The millivolt version is remote ready. Both have a standing pilot, so they need no electricity and keep heating when the power is out. You can add a remote, a wall switch, and an outside air kit. Check your local code first, since some areas restrict vent-free fireplaces. Want a bigger fire with a blower? See the Superior VRT/VCT4000Z vent-free fireplace. The Superior VCM3026 ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How compact is the VCM3026, and where will it fit?
It is Superior’s smallest vent-free fireplace: a 26 in unit only 9-1/2 in deep, framed at 26-7/8 in wide, 26-7/8 in high and 10-1/2 in deep, which is why the Features tab calls out easy renovation of existing rooms. Because it needs no chimney or vent it can go on almost any interior wall, subject to local rules on vent-free appliances.
Is the log set included?
Yes. Unlike Superior’s larger vent-free fireboxes, the VCM3026 is a complete fireplace: the dual burner, detailed ceramic fiber logs, arched screen with rolled louvered front and black painted interior are all in the box. The only selectors are Ignition, Fuel, Remotes and Switches, and Outside Air.
What is the difference between the thermostat and millivolt versions?
Both use a standing pilot and need no electricity. The thermostat (T-Stat) version has a built-in temperature control that cycles the burner to hold the room temperature you set; the millivolt version is remote-ready, so it works with the on/off, hand-held thermostat or touch screen remotes and the wall switch on the Remotes and Switches selector. Choose on the Ignition selector.
How much heat does it give and how efficient is it?
The Specifications tab lists 26,000 down to 14,000 BTU, and as a vent-free unit it is 99.9 percent efficient because no heat leaves through a flue. Vent-free heaters draw combustion air from the room, so the installation manual’s ventilation-air check sets the largest input the room can support, and some states restrict where vent-free units may be installed.
Natural gas or propane?
Both: the Fuel selector picks between the natural gas (N) and propane (P) models listed in the Specifications tab, so the correct burner ships from the factory. An optional outside air kit on the Outside Air selector brings in outdoor air for the burner. Compare more ventless gas fireplaces by size.
Does it work in a power outage?
Yes, in either version. The standing pilot and millivolt or thermostat valve run on the pilot’s own generated current, so the fireplace lights and heats without household power, which is one reason vent-free units are popular as backup heat. Only battery-powered remotes are involved, and they are optional.
