DuraVent DuraChimney II 10 inch Kit Builder: choose a whole chimney on one page
The DuraVent DuraChimney II 10 inch Kit Builder is a page for choosing a complete fireplace chimney, from the fireplace top to the cap. You build it here instead of shopping for each part separately. There is no starting package price. Your total comes from the parts and quantities you choose. DuraChimney II is DuraVent’s air cooled chimney, a double wall pipe in 8 to 16 inch sizes for fireplaces that burn wood, oil, coal, or gas. Match the 10 inch diameter to the fireplace’s chimney outlet, called its flue collar. The fireplace maker must approve DuraChimney II for that fireplace.
Start with at least one required pipe section, choosing lengths of 12, 18, 36, or 48 inches and quantities. Each joint reduces the assembled height by 1 inch. Add 15 or 30 degree elbows if the chimney needs to move sideways. They are sold individually, and a sideways shift takes two. Then select the supports, shields, and roof parts your chimney needs. The cap must finish 3 feet above the roof exit and 2 feet above anything within 10 feet. Need a larger diameter? See the DuraVent DuraChimney II 12 inch Kit Builder. The DuraVent DuraChimney II 10 inch Kit Builder ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How do I build a 10-inch DuraChimney II kit on this page?
There is no base price; the chimney is priced from what you select. The 10-inch pipe length row is required, so choose at least one 12, 18, 36 or 48 inch section with quantities, then add 15 or 30 degree elbows and the components you need from the Build Your Chimney Kit row: anchor plate, firestop spacer, shields, chase top flashing, storm collar and cap, each priced on the selector.
Which fireplaces take a 10-inch DuraChimney II chimney?
Fireplaces burning wood, oil, coal or gas whose flue collar is 10 inches and whose manual names DuraChimney II as an approved chimney. It is a unitized, double-wall, air-cooled chimney listed to UL 103 and ULC S604 for continuous 1000 F operation, with a 430 stainless inner wall and galvanized outer wall (a stainless outer is available through customer service).
What is the Anchor Plate with Damper option?
The plain Anchor Plate is the starting piece that mounts on the fireplace top; the damper version adds a chimney damper at the base. DuraVent’s instructions warn that a damper anchor plate may only be used where the fireplace manufacturer permits it, so check that manual first. Either plate is fastened to the fireplace top with four sheet metal screws before the first section twist-locks on.
How much 10-inch pipe do I need, and how is it supported?
Measure from the anchor plate to the cap, subtract 1 inch per joint, and plan on 10 to 15 feet minimum above the fireplace outlet plus the code rule of 3 feet above the roof and 2 feet above anything within 10 feet. Add a Wall Strap every 8 feet, a Supplementary Support once the chimney exceeds 50 feet (each supports 25 feet) and a Stabilizer to center the pipe in the chase.
What are the European Copper King and Bishop adapters?
They are adapters that let DuraChimney II terminate in a European Copper decorative chimney pot instead of the standard cap; DuraVent publishes separate copper-pot instructions, linked in the Instructions tab. Choose the adapter that matches the pot model, and remember the storm collar and a listed cap arrangement are still required when a flashing is used.
Does this chimney need a chase and firestops?
Yes. DuraVent installs DuraChimney II inside an enclosed chase with 2 inches of air space to combustibles, a Firestop Spacer at every floor or ceiling level, an Attic Insulation Shield through an attic, a Roof Radiation Shield where it exits and a Chase Top Flashing with a 1/2-inch air gap. Compare the other DuraChimney II diameters if your collar is not 10 inches.
