Fire Magic Select Double Access Doors: two sizes for the bay under your grill
The Fire Magic Select Double Access Doors is a pair of doors for an outdoor kitchen island. Select is Fire Magic’s mid priced line: the frame mounts on the face of the island and covers the cut edge of the opening, with a slim round handle and a magnetic latch. A rain guard around the frame keeps water out of the cabinet, and it skips the foam filled fronts and the soft close of the Flush line, which is where the savings are. Fire Magic builds it in the USA from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors. On the page you pick the size: 16 by 39 inches or 21 by 30 inches. This is a mid priced choice for access beneath the grill.
The 16 by 39 spans the low bay under a 36 or 48 inch grill, and the 21 by 30 is the full height door for a storage bay. It has no louvers, so a propane cylinder goes behind one of Fire Magic’s louvered tank doors instead. Fire Magic covers it for two years. Want the same face with four drawers behind it? FAQ
Which sizes are offered?
Two on the Size selector on this page: the reduced-height 16 by 39 inch door, model 33938S, and the 21 by 30 inch door, model 33930S, as listed in the Specifications tab. The price difference shows on the selector.
What cutout does each need?
Cut the opening 16 inches high by 39 wide for the 33938S or 21 by 30 for the 33930S, per the Specifications tab and the Fire Magic spec guide, which lists a 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 inch flange overlap for Select doors. The manual recommends silicone caulk behind the frame.
How is the Select series built?
Outside mounting with double-wall, square-edge 304 stainless construction, a slim tubular handle, a heavy-duty magnetic latch and a continuous rain guard. The Premium Flush series adds foam-filled flush fronts and soft close at a higher price. See other Fire Magic storage here.
How are they installed?
Fasten through the frame slots with the supplied brackets and short screws, or long screws into pilot holes in the island wall, per the doors and drawers manual; wider models may include two mounting kits.
Which size fits under which grill?
The 16 by 39 inch 33938S spans the shallow bay under a 36 or 48 inch grill, and Fire Magic’s island systems list it as the reduced-height double door; the 21 by 30 inch 33930S is the full-height door for a storage bay. Both carry the spec guide’s two-year Select 3-Series warranty.
