Majestic Echelon II: a wide wall fireplace with glowing glass under the flames
The Majestic Echelon II is a linear direct vent gas fireplace built into the wall. Linear means the opening is low and wide, like a letterbox. It comes 36, 48, 60, or 72 inches wide. Pick the size on the page. The window is about 12 inches tall. Flames rise through a bed of glass. LED lights underneath keep the glass glowing even when the fire is off.
It is set up for natural gas, and a propane conversion kit is on the page. Direct vent means a sealed pipe runs to the outside. It brings in air for the fire and carries the exhaust out, so the fire never uses the air in your room. It lights with a button, and a battery backup keeps it running when the power is out. What sizes does the Echelon II series come in?
The Echelon II is built in four widths: 36, 48, 60, and 72 inches, with viewing areas from 35-1/2 by 12-1/2 inches up to 71-1/2 by 12-1/2 inches. Every size keeps the same low ribbon proportions, so you can scale up to a dramatic wall of flame without changing the contemporary look. How much heat does each of the four sizes produce?
Plenty. The 36-inch model is rated 30,000 BTU per hour on natural gas (27,000 on propane), the 48 steps up to 40,000, the 60 to 50,000, and the 72-inch flagship reaches 58,000 BTU on natural gas. These are genuine room heaters, not just decorative ribbons of flame, so match the size to the space as much as to the wall.
What does the LED ember bed glow actually do?
LED lighting sits beneath the fire and deepens the flame effect, giving the ember bed a natural, cozy glow instead of a flat gas-burner look. The glass interior is illuminated by lights as well, so even at a low flame the firebox stays visually alive. It is a big part of what makes this contemporary series feel warm rather than stark.
How do you light the Echelon II's electronic ignition?
There is no match or standing pilot involved. The Echelon II uses IntelliFire Touch, so you start the fire from a touchscreen remote or a wireless wall switch with one press. Battery backup is built in as well, meaning the fireplace can still be lit and keep the room warm if your electricity fails on a cold night.
Can I mount a TV over the Echelon II?
The low 12-1/2 inch tall glass is one reason people pair a television with this fireplace; the linear format leaves generous wall space above it. Plan the wall using the installation manual’s clearance and framing requirements for your size, 42-inch framing height on the 36 and 48, 48 inches on the 60 and 72, so heat and wall finishes are handled correctly.
Where does this linear fireplace send its exhaust?
Straight outside. As a direct vent fireplace it burns inside a sealed, glass-fronted firebox and pushes every fume and combustion byproduct out through its vent pipe while drawing fresh outdoor air in. Nothing spills into the room, which is why the fire can run all evening without affecting the air you are breathing indoors.
Does the 72-inch size need a deeper wall than the 36?
No, and that surprises people. All four sizes, from the 36 up to the 72, share the same 18-1/4 inch framing depth. Going bigger stretches the fireplace sideways, not into the room, so a six-foot ribbon of fire fits in the same depth of stud wall a 36-inch unit would. Width and framing height are what change as you scale up.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. She was always super responsive and helpful throughout the process. Don't kid yourself, getting a really nice sauna is not that easy. Sizing and heating need to be figured out, as does the building, but we have always had a helpful partner on our side. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
