Monessen Charisma: hand painted gas logs that glow from below
The Monessen Charisma is a vent free gas log set for the fireplace you already have. It comes 18, 24, or 30 inches wide. Hand painted logs form a traditional stack. The Glow Getter burner adds bright embers and logs that glow from below.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Vent free means it needs no chimney or vent pipe at all, and nearly all the heat stays in the room. Check your local code first, since some areas restrict vent free heaters. It puts out up to 37,000 BTU and heats up to 1,850 square feet. The price is for the logs. The burner is a required pick on the page, in millivolt or IPI. On the page you pick the size, the fuel, and the burner ignition. Millivolt means it has a standing pilot and needs no electricity, so it keeps working when the power is out. IPI means intermittent pilot ignition: it lights the pilot only when you turn the fire on, so no gas burns while the fire is off. Pick one on the page. You can add a hand held on and off remote or a touchscreen remote. Compare another log style: Monessen Moxie gas log set. The Monessen Charisma ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What makes the Glow Getter burner under the Charisma special?
It is built around glow, not just flame. Glow Getter technology pairs a vibrant ember bed with logs that light up from below, an exclusive combination Monessen offers in two burner sizes, for natural gas or propane, in millivolt or IPI operation. Among gas fireplace burners, that pairing of ember bed and log glow is the Charisma’s signature.
What is the smallest opening width each Charisma size accepts?
Front width is the gating number. The 18-inch Charisma needs a fireplace opening at least 27 inches across, the 24-inch needs 31 inches, and the 30-inch needs 34 inches, identical figures for the millivolt and IPI versions. If your opening lands between two of those numbers, size down; the set should never crowd its firebox.
Is the detailing on these logs applied by machine?
No. Each log is hand painted, which is why Monessen calls the finish a personal touch. Casting establishes the bark and grain, then the paintwork brings out the beautiful detail and fabulous glow the set is known for. Slight variation from log to log is part of the appeal of a hand-finished piece.
Does a tighter fireplace favor the Charisma over the Dynamo?
Usually, yes. The Charisma’s minimum front widths run two inches narrower than the Dynamo’s at every length, so it drops into openings its barked sibling cannot use. If your firebox is generous enough for either, the decision becomes purely visual: bold traditional stack here, heavier bark texture on the Dynamo.
Can this set remember my preferred flame settings?
Order it with the IntelliFire Plus intermittent pilot option and yes: that system lets you program memory settings, so the fire comes back the way you like it, and it monitors safe performance while it runs. Prefer simpler controls? The millivolt version is the alternative, and every Charisma ships remote ready either way.
Is a 14-inch-deep firebox enough for these logs?
Yes. Fourteen inches of depth is exactly the minimum, and it applies to all three lengths in both ignition versions. That relatively shallow requirement means plenty of older masonry fireboxes qualify. Confirm your front width against the size chart as well, since width, not depth, is usually what decides which length fits.
Will a traditional mantel setting suit this log set?
That is its natural home. Monessen styles the set as bold traditional, with a realistic stacked-log profile and a glowing bottom that reads like settled coals beneath a mantel. The burner hardware is finished in sleek black to sit quietly against a classic hearth, so the fire, not the equipment, holds the room.
