Monessen Exacta: a budget vent free firebox with screens that slide away
The Monessen Exacta is a budget vent free firebox built into an indoor wall, sold without a burner. It comes 32, 36, or 42 inches wide. The face has no vent slots. Screens slide into side pockets. Optional panels give it a brick backdrop or a reflective black glass interior.
A firebox is the steel box your builder frames into the wall and finishes in stone, tile, or brick. You add a Monessen vent free log set or glass burner, and the logs set the heat. The price is for the firebox. Vent free means it needs no chimney or vent pipe at all, and nearly all the heat stays in the room. Check your local code first, since some areas restrict vent free fireplaces. On the page you pick the size. You can leave out the panels or add them. You can also add a Monessen log set or Lyric glass burner kit, each with a touchscreen remote, and a fan. Compare it with the Monessen Lo-Rider firebox. What makes the Exacta an affordable route to a fireplace?
It is designed to deliver the fireplace you have always wanted without a lot of expense. The zero-clearance construction gives you flexibility in where it goes and helps save installation dollars, and you complete it with the Monessen vent-free log set of your choice. Among indoor fireplaces, it is a genuinely budget-minded starting point.
Can I order a firebox with no interior panels at all?
Yes. The Exacta comes with herringbone or traditional concrete interior panels, or it can be ordered without panels entirely, an option you will not often see. The panel versions give you a finished brick-pattern backdrop from day one; the panel-free route leaves the interior ready for the treatment you have planned.
What sizes does the Exacta firebox come in?
Three sizes: 32, 36, and 42 inch models, all standing 34 inches tall. Each is a vent-free enclosure that pairs with the log set you select, so choosing a size is mostly about how wide a fire feature the room can carry and which log set will live inside it.
Do all three sizes need the same wall depth?
No. The 32 model is the shallowest at 20 inches deep, while the 36 and 42 both measure 23 inches. If your wall build-out is tight, the 32 saves three inches of projection into the room; the two larger models trade that space for a bigger fire.
Does the firebox design itself add heating efficiency?
Yes. The Exacta is engineered for maximum airflow, which efficiently adds heat to your home instead of letting warmth idle inside the cabinet. Pair it with a vent-free log set, whose heat stays in the room rather than leaving through a flue, and the box becomes part of the heating plan, not just a frame.
Why is the 32-inch model 38 inches wide?
The model number is not the cabinet width. The full unit measures 38 inches across on the 32 model, 42 inches on the 36, and 48 inches on the 42. When you size the framing and the finished surround, work from the unit dimensions rather than the name on the box.
What features come standard on the Exacta firebox?
Every model brings a clean, louverless face, screens that tuck away into hidden pockets to reveal the full view, and zero-clearance construction. What it does not build in is a burner: the fire comes from the Monessen vent-free log set you pick through the Burners and Gas Log Kits options on this page, sized to your firebox, which is part of how the Exacta keeps its cost down.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. She was always super responsive and helpful throughout the process. Don't kid yourself, getting a really nice sauna is not that easy. Sizing and heating need to be figured out, as does the building, but we have always had a helpful partner on our side. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
