Superior Giant Timbers: the tallest vent-free gas logs Superior makes, with a triple burner to match
The Superior Giant Timbers is a vent-free gas log set for a large fireplace. The concrete logs stand 19 inches tall, the tallest Superior makes, so they fill a large opening the way a real stack of firewood would. The burner reaches up and out so the flames stay tall next to the logs. Two burners make bright yellow flames, and a third makes a glowing ember bed underneath. It comes 24, 30, or 36 inches long, and it puts out up to 40,000 BTU. Pick the size on the page.
The burner is not included. On the page you pick the log size, the fuel, and the burner. Order it for natural gas or propane. Vent-free means you can run it with the damper closed, so nearly all the heat stays in the room. The millivolt burner needs no electricity and is remote ready. The variable burner comes with a remote that sets five flame heights. The electronic burner comes with a touchscreen remote and a thermostat. Is a burner included with the Giant Timbers logs?
The price shown is the log set; the burner is a required choice on the Burner selector after you pick the size and fuel. Millivolt is remote-ready with a standing pilot, Variable includes the ProFlame remote with five flame heights, and Electronic includes the EcoFlow touchscreen remote with thermostat and weekday/weekend modes. Natural gas or propane is set on the Fuel Type selector.
Can these vent-free logs be used in a vented fireplace?
Yes, both ways. Run vent-free with the damper closed and the heater-rated burner delivers 99 percent of its heat to the room. The set is also listed for vented use, which needs the damper clamp on the Accessories row (marked required if vented) to hold the damper permanently open. Vent-free use depends on local code and on the room supplying enough ventilation air, which the burner manual explains.
How big does my fireplace need to be?
The 24 in set needs a firebox at least 32-1/4 in wide at the front, 22-3/4 in at the rear, 28 in high and 15-1/2 in deep; the 30 in set needs 39 in front width and 26-3/4 in rear; the 36 in set needs 47 in and 33 in. The 28 in height matters here because the Mega-Flame logs stand 19 in tall, the tallest in Superior’s range.
How much heat do they give off?
The Specifications tab lists 40,000 down to 29,000 BTU, which is the millivolt burner’s range; the vent-free logs brochure shows the variable and electronic burners at roughly 38,000-28,000 BTU. As a heater-rated vent-free appliance almost all of that input reaches the room, so the installer should size it to the room using the ventilation-air calculation in the burner manual.
Will it work in a power outage?
The millivolt version will: its standing pilot and valve need no household electricity, so it lights and heats when the power is out. It is also the version to pick if you want to add the on/off remote, thermostatic remote, touch screen remote or wall-mount thermostat from the Accessories row later. What ember material and extras are included?
The set ships with platinum bright embers and glowing ember material for the front burner, placed exactly as the log placement guide shows; the guide warns that extra or misplaced ember material can cause soot or carbon monoxide. Volcanic stone and a lava, ember and cinder floor media kit are optional on the Accessories row, as are a black fireplace hood and a gas appliance installation kit.
Why does the 30 in set use a 24 in burner?
It is by design: Superior’s vent-free brochure pairs the 24 in and 30 in Giant Timbers logs with the 24 in Mega-Flame triple burner, and the 36 in logs with the 30 in burner, which is why the Burner selector labels change with size. The cantilevered burner produces tall flames from two upper burners while a lower burner creates the glowing ember bed beneath the logs.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
