Superior Mossy Oak: tall vent-free gas logs with mossy green bark and a triple burner
The Superior Mossy Oak is a vent-free gas log set for a large fireplace. The concrete logs stand 19 inches tall and have oak bark with touches of green moss, like wood pulled from a damp woodpile. The set comes in lengths of 24, 30, or 36 inches. Pick the size on the page. The burner reaches up and out to keep the flames tall beside the logs. Two burners make bright yellow flames, and a third creates a glowing ember bed underneath. It puts out up to 40,000 BTU.
Vent-free means you can run it with the damper closed, so nearly all the heat stays in the room. The burner is not included. On the page you pick the log size, the fuel, and the burner. Order it for natural gas or propane. The millivolt burner needs no electricity and is remote ready. The variable burner comes with a remote that sets five flame heights. The electronic burner comes with a touchscreen remote and a thermostat. Check your local code first, since some areas restrict vent-free heaters. Prefer plain split timber? See the Superior Giant Timbers vent-free gas log set. The Superior Mossy Oak ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How is Mossy Oak different from Giant Timbers?
Same Mega-Flame platform, 19 in tall concrete logs, 24, 30 and 36 in sizes, 40,000-29,000 BTU and burner choices; the difference is the log styling. Mossy Oak logs carry moss-green tones and oak bark texture, while Giant Timbers are a plainer split-timber look. Pick whichever suits the room; the burner, fit and accessories are identical.
Is the burner included?
The burner is a required choice on the Burner selector after size and fuel: Millivolt (remote-ready), Variable with the ProFlame remote (five flame heights, thermostat mode) or Electronic with the EcoFlow touchscreen remote (weekday/weekend programs, wall docking station). The 30 in logs use the 24 in burner and the 36 in logs the 30 in burner.
What fireplace size do I need?
A minimum front width of 32-1/4, 39 or 47 in for the 24, 30 and 36 in sets, with 28 in of height and 15-1/2 in of depth per the Specifications tab; the height matters because the logs stand 19 in tall. Any listed vent-free firebox, or a vented fireplace with the damper clamp, will take it. See more ventless gas logs.
How much heat does it produce?
40,000 down to 29,000 BTU per the Specifications tab, at 99 percent efficiency as a heater-rated vent-free set. Superior’s brochure shows the variable and electronic burners at roughly 38,000-28,000 BTU on natural gas. Size it to the room with the burner manual’s ventilation-air calculation and check local vent-free rules.
Can it be used vented?
Yes. The set is also listed for vented fireplace applications, which needs the Damper Clamp (required if vented) from the Accessories row to keep the damper open. Vent-free with the damper closed gives all the heat to the room; vented sends most of it up the flue but suits areas that do not allow vent-free heaters.
Natural gas or propane?
Both, chosen on the Fuel Type selector; the Burner row then lists the natural gas or propane version at the same price. Remotes, a wall thermostat, a wall switch, volcanic stone, floor media, the damper clamp, an installation kit and a black hood are on the Accessories row.
