Cazo Wood Grain Planter Ivory

Cazo planter bowl in wood grain: driftwood looks in cast concrete, 24 or 31 inches across

The Outdoor Plus Cazo planter bowl in wood grain is a shallow cone handmade in the USA from glass fiber reinforced concrete. It measures 24 inches across and 9 inches tall, or 31 inches across and 10 inches tall. Three finishes feature weathered plank texture, grain, and knots; ivory looks like whitewashed driftwood in the photo. Concrete never rots or splinters, giving you wood looks without upkeep.

Only the bowl is included, so add your own soil and plants. Want plants and water together? See the Cazo planter and water bowl in wood grain. The Cazo planter bowl in wood grain ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ

Is the Wood Grain Cazo planter actually made of wood?

No — it is GFRC, glass fiber reinforced concrete, cast in molds that carry a realistic wood texture. You get the warmth of a timber look with none of wood’s weaknesses: no rot, no splinters, no insect damage, and no seasonal refinishing to keep it presentable.

What sizes does the Wood Grain version come in?

Two diameters: 24 inches and 32 inches. Both share the low, rounded Cazo bowl profile, so a pair at different sizes still reads as a deliberate set on a porch or patio — the smaller by the door, the larger anchoring a seating corner.

What finish colors are available?

Three wood-inspired tones: Ebony (a deep charcoal timber look), Ivory (pale driftwood), and Oak (classic mid-brown). Each keeps the cast grain texture visible, so the Cazo reads as wood at a glance even in the lightest colorway.

Can it match a fire feature from the same line?

Yes — The Outdoor Plus casts the Cazo fire bowls from the same molds, including wood grain finishes, so a flame bowl and this planter pair as siblings. Start with a concrete fire pit and repeat the texture in plantings.

Will the wood texture weather like real wood?

No — because it is concrete, the Wood Grain Cazo will not gray, crack, or rot the way lumber does. It weathers like stone instead: slowly and evenly. An occasional rinse keeps the cast grain crisp, with none of the sanding and sealing a real wood planter demands.

What should I plant to complement the wood look?

Ornamental grasses, ferns, and loose cottage-style plantings play beautifully off the Cazo’s grain texture, while succulents give it a modern edge. With the bowl’s wide, shallow shape, favor spreading and trailing habits over deep taproots. Soil and plants are not included.

Is winter a problem for a GFRC planter?

Not for the Wood Grain Cazo — GFRC tolerates year-round outdoor exposure. The sensible precaution in freeze country is the same as any planter: keep the soil from sitting waterlogged going into a hard frost, so expanding ice is not working against the bowl from inside.

Some silhouettes never go out of style. Named after the traditional Spanish cooking pot it resembles, the Cazo’s clean tapered cone has become The Outdoor Plus’ signature — and one of the most recognizable fire features in outdoor design.

Line a row of them along a raised bond beam, crown a pair of pillars at the spa, or anchor a quiet corner with a single bowl — then repeat the same shape as a fire bowl, fire & water bowl, water bowl, planter, or planter & water bowl. One silhouette, five roles, five finishes, in sizes from intimate to grand.

One Bowl, Five Ways

Cazo Fire Bowl

09Fire Bowls

The classic: a gas burner beneath a bed of lava rock fills the cone with a tall, open flame. Runs on natural gas or liquid propane, match lit or electronic ignition.

Best for: pool decks, pillars & seating areas

Cazo Fire & Water Bowl

12Fire & Water Bowls

Flame on top, waterfall below — while the burner runs, a scupper spills a smooth sheet of water from the bowl into the pool beneath it.

Best for: spa & pool surrounds

Cazo Planter Bowl

16Planter Bowls

No gas, no plumbing — the same sculptural cone finished as an oversized planter, so living greenery can echo your fire and water bowls.

Best for: entries, steps & softening hardscape

Cazo Planter & Water Bowl

18Planter & Water Bowls

Plants grow in the center while water pours from the scupper beneath them — greenery and moving water sharing one bowl.

Best for: pool walls & raised bond beams

Cazo Water Bowl

20Water Bowls

A pure water feature: the bowl fills and continuously spills from its scupper, adding movement, sound and reflection to the poolscape.

Best for: symmetrical spills along the pool edge

What’s Included In Your Bowl

Exploded diagrams of match lit and low voltage Cazo fire bowls and fire and water bowls

Match Lit Bowls

Ship complete with the burner, fire pan, lava rock, coupling, NG or LP gas orifice, whistle-free hose and ventilating mounting plate — light it by hand, no power needed.

Low Voltage Electronic

Adds a pilot igniter and SWEIS valve for flames at the flip of a switch. Every electronic ignition system runs off a low-voltage transformer.

Fire & Water Bowls

Add a scupper and a dedicated water line, so the same bowl that holds the flame also pours into the pool below.

Liquid Propane

LP applications use a brass air-mixer orifice that blends air into the propane for a cleaner-burning flame — preventing soot from staining the bowl and its surroundings.

Natural Gas

NG applications come with a brass orifice mounted directly under the burner. Key valves must be mounted within arm’s reach of the burner.

Mounting Brackets

Fire bowls ship with a mounting bracket that provides ventilation and a secure mount — the warranty is void if it isn’t properly installed.

Fire Media

Top the burner with the included lava rock. Fire glass isn’t recommended on liquid propane — propane is heavier than air and can pool beneath dense glass.

Natural Gas & Liquid Propane · Five finishes · Fire, water & planter combinations — professional installation recommended
