FAQ
Which metals can the Regal be ordered in?
Four families: hand-hammered Copper that patinas with age, Corten steel that weathers to a stable russet, brushed Stainless that stays exactly as delivered, and durable powder coat. Same Regal geometry across 48-, 54-, and 60-inch sizes — the metal sets the personality.
How do the Regal SKUs break down by finish?
By finish and size: copper runs OPT-RGLCPR48 through 60, stainless OPT-RGLSS48 through 60, Corten OPT-RGLCS48 through 60, and powder coat OPT-RGLPC48 through 60. Three sizes in every metal, so you never trade the finish you want for the scale you need.
Is electronic ignition available on the metal Regal?
Yes — Low Voltage Electronic and Plug and Play (both CSA certified) join Flame Sense with Spark, Match Lit with Flame Sense (LC certified), and standard Match Lit. Every Regal is also built to order for either Liquid Propane or Natural Gas.
How do you light one?
Depends on your build. Match Lit Regals light with a long lighter at the burner as the valve opens; electronic versions ignite from a switch and monitor their own flame. Both reach full fire in seconds — the difference is purely convenience and wiring.
What does shutdown involve?
Turning the key valve closed. The Regal flame extinguishes immediately, with no coals, ash, or water involved — walk away as soon as the metal cools enough to cover. Copper owners: never quench the hot surface with water; it can mark the finish.
Can it go on a wooden deck?
Often yes, with care: verify the deck structure for the 54- and 60-inch Regal sizes, respect the spec sheet clearances, and put a stone or paver pad underneath to spread load and shield boards from radiant heat. Gas means no embers, but heat management still matters, as with any gas fire pit.
Will rain damage the Regal metal finishes?
No — every metal the Regal comes in is chosen for outdoor life. Rain accelerates the intended aging on Corten and copper, leaves stainless and powder coat untouched, and the only universal rule is to let the pan and media dry before lighting. A cover keeps things ready-to-light.
