The American Made Grills Encore 36 Hybrid Grill is a 36 inch built in hybrid grill. Built in means it slides into a cutout in an outdoor kitchen island, so it has no legs of its own. Hybrid means it is a full gas grill that also burns real charcoal or wood: stainless steel trays under the grates hold the coals or the wood chunks, so you can cook over gas, over a live fire, or both at once. Vents in the hood let you feed air to a charcoal or wood fire or choke it down, the way a charcoal grill does. It suits cooks who want those fuel choices with a more traditional look. American Made Grills builds it in the USA from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors. Five stainless steel burners give 110,000 BTUs over about 1,100 square inches of cooking space.
The grates are thick V shaped stainless steel bars that flip over, and lifting tools come with the grill for moving them hot. The double walled hood holds heat like an oven, and lights inside the hood and over each knob let you cook after dark. An infrared back burner at the rear runs the included rotisserie, so a chicken or a roast turns and bastes itself. Also in the box: an infrared sear burner that drops in where a grate goes, a griddle plate, a starter kit of wood and charcoal, leather gloves, a care kit, and a vinyl cover for the grill head. Why are the cooking grates on this grill reversible?
They’re built with a V-shaped profile in heavy 9-gauge steel, and both faces are usable — flip them to present a fresh cooking surface whenever you like. The grate lifting tools included with the grill make that swap easy, even while things are hot. On a hybrid that shifts between gas, charcoal, and wood, having two grate orientations and the tools to change them mid-cook is genuinely practical.
How powerful are the burners in this 36-inch hybrid?
Each main burner is a 14-gauge #304 stainless steel unit rated at 22,000 BTUs, and the grill totals 110,000 BTUs across 1,106 square inches of cooking surface. Flame Thrower ignition lights the burners, an LED sits over each control knob, and interior halogen lights illuminate the firebox, so the power comes paired with reliable starts and good visibility.
Should I get the 36-inch or the 54-inch version of this hybrid?
It comes down to space and headcount. This 36-inch head gives you 1,106 square inches and 110,000 total BTUs in a 35-inch-wide cutout; the 54-inch steps up to 1,687 square inches and 176,000 BTUs but needs a 53.25-inch opening. Both share the same fuel-tray design and included accessory kit, so choose by patio real estate — the whole hybrid grill lineup cooks the same way.
How do you get charcoal flavor on a gas grill?
With most gas grills you’d have to fake it, but here you simply burn the real thing. Load charcoal into the 14-gauge fuel trays — a wood-and-charcoal Fuel Kit comes with the grill — light it, and cook directly over the coals, with the gas burners still available alongside. Because the flavor comes from actual burning charcoal rather than an accessory, there’s nothing artificial about the result.
Is a grill cover included, or do I have to buy one separately?
It’s included. The Encore 36 ships with a deluxe vinyl grill cover on its included-items list, and you’ll see the 36-inch Encore/Muscle built-in grill cover (GRILLCOV-AMG36) shown at no charge under the ‘Added Bonus Included’ options on this page. Nothing extra is required to keep the head protected — though a grill liner and a matching cart are offered as separate on-page options.
What do the heat zone separators do?
They partition the firebox so each area holds its own temperature. Run one zone hot while another idles low, or keep a gas zone and a solid-fuel zone working independently side by side — useful on a hybrid where charcoal, wood, and 22,000 BTU gas burners can all be active in the same cook. The separators are stainless steel, matching the grill’s #304 construction.
Can you use wood and charcoal together in this grill?
Yes. The fuel trays don’t care whether you load charcoal, wood chunks, or a blend of both — mixing them is a normal way to run this hybrid, and the included Fuel Kit actually contains wood and charcoal to start you off. The adjustable hood vents let you manage the fire’s airflow, and you can still bring the gas burners into the same cook whenever you want.

We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
