Fire Magic Flush Horizontal Single Access Door: access for a wide, low island bay
The Fire Magic Flush Horizontal Single Access Door is a single door that is wider than it is tall, for an outdoor kitchen island. Flush means the door and drawer fronts close inside the frame, level with the face of the island, instead of sitting on top of it. The fronts are filled with foam so they feel solid, they shut softly on a magnetic latch, and a rain guard around the frame keeps water out of the cabinet. Fire Magic builds it in the USA from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors. On the page you pick the size: 15 by 20.5 inches or 18 by 24.5 inches. It suits that odd shaped gap left in your island layout.
Horizontal means the bay is wider than it is tall, the kind of space beside a drawer stack or under a side burner. It has no louvers, so a propane cylinder goes behind one of Fire Magic’s louvered tank doors instead. On the page you pick a right or a left hinge, so the door swings away from the grill. Fire Magic covers it for three years. Have a taller, narrower bay? See the Fire Magic Flush Vertical Single Access Door. The Fire Magic Flush Horizontal Single Access Door ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
Which sizes and hinges are offered?
Two horizontal sizes on the Size selector, 15 by 20 1/2 inches, model 53914SC, and 18 by 24 1/2 inches, model 53917SC, each in a right or left hinge chosen on the Right or Left selector. The Specifications tab lists all four model numbers.
What cutout does it need?
Cut the enclosure to the size ordered, 15 inches high by 20 1/2 wide or 18 by 24 1/2, per the Specifications tab and the Fire Magic spec guide, which lists a 1 1/2 inch flange overlap for Premium Flush doors. The manual recommends silicone caulk behind the frame.
When is a horizontal door the right choice?
When the bay is wider than it is tall, such as beside a drawer stack or under a side burner, where a vertical door would not fit. Fire Magic’s vertical single doors are listed separately for taller, narrower bays. See other outdoor kitchen doors here.
How does it close?
Flush with the frame on a magnetic latch, with a soft-close hinge that adjusts three ways per the manual, a foam-filled 304 stainless door for a solid feel and a continuous rain guard gasket that keeps rain and dust out of the bay behind it.
Is a locking horizontal door available?
Yes. The same two sizes with a key lock are the 53914KSC and 53917KSC, listed with the flush single access door with lock. This standard version closes on the magnetic latch and carries the spec guide’s three-year Premium Flush warranty for the original purchaser.
