Fire Magic Select Horizontal Single Access Door: access for a wide, short island bay
The Fire Magic Select Horizontal Single Access Door is a single door that is wider than it is tall, for an outdoor kitchen island. Select is Fire Magic’s mid priced line: the frame mounts on the face of the island and covers the cut edge of the opening, with a slim round handle and a magnetic latch. A rain guard around the frame keeps water out of the cabinet, and it skips the foam filled fronts and the soft close of the Flush line, which is where the savings are. Fire Magic builds it in the USA from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors. On the page you pick the size: 15 by 20.5 inches or 18 by 24.5 inches. It fills an awkward gap in the island layout.
Horizontal means the bay is wider than it is tall, the kind of space beside a drawer stack or under a side burner. It has no louvers, so a propane cylinder goes behind one of Fire Magic’s louvered tank doors instead. On the page you pick a right or a left hinge, so the door swings away from the grill. Fire Magic covers it for two years. Have a taller, narrower bay? See the Fire Magic Select Vertical Single Access Door. The Fire Magic Select Horizontal Single Access Door ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
Which sizes and hinges are offered?
Two horizontal sizes on the Sizes selector, 15 by 20 1/2 inches, model 33914, and 18 by 24 1/2 inches, model 33917, each with a right or left hinge chosen on the Right or Left selector, matching the table in the Specifications tab. The listing defaults to the 15 by 20 1/2 inch right-hinge door.
What cutout does it need?
Cut the opening to the size ordered, 15 inches high by 20 1/2 wide or 18 by 24 1/2, per the Specifications tab and the Fire Magic spec guide, which lists a 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 inch flange overlap for Select doors. The manual recommends silicone caulk behind the frame.
How is it built?
Select series: outside mounting, double-wall square-edge 304 stainless construction, a slim tubular handle, a heavy-duty magnetic latch and a continuous rain guard, mounted through the frame slots with the supplied brackets or long screws. See other outdoor kitchen doors here.
When is a horizontal door right?
When the bay is wider than it is tall, such as beside a drawer stack, under a side burner or below a refreshment center. Fire Magic’s Select vertical single doors are listed separately for taller, narrower bays, and the Premium Flush 53914SC is the flush-closing version of this door.
What warranty covers the 33914 and 33917 doors?
Two years for Select 3-Series doors per the Fire Magic spec guide’s warranty table, for the original purchaser in single-family residential use, in either size and hinge. The 304 stainless resists corrosion; wipe it with the grain and rinse off salt or fertilizer that lands on the face.
