Fire Magic Echelon Double Side Burner: two burners for sauces and sides
The Fire Magic Echelon Double Side Burner is a built in double side burner. Built in means it slides into a cutout in the counter next to the grill, so it has no legs of its own. Use it for sauces, corn, or a skillet without running inside. Its black glass control panel matches an Echelon grill. Fire Magic builds it in the USA from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors. Two 15,000 BTU burners each have their own knob, so one can simmer while the other boils.
A stainless steel lid closes over the burners when you are not cooking, so the top works as counter space. Its knobs light up, and it takes its power from the Echelon grill next to it. On the page you pick natural gas or propane, and it comes built for that gas. Using a wok or turkey fryer? See the Fire Magic Echelon Power Burner. The Fire Magic Echelon Double Side Burner ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is the double side burner for?
It gives an Echelon Diamond island two independent 15,000 BTU burners, 30,000 BTUs in total, for sauces, sides, a pot of corn or a skillet while the grill handles the main course. The black glass control panel matches the Echelon grills and each burner has its own valve for precise flame control.
What cutout does it need?
The opening is 11 1/2 inches wide, 22 3/4 inches deep and 11 1/2 inches high, with a 12 1/2 inch control panel width in the Fire Magic spec guide. The owner’s manual gives slightly larger cutout numbers for combustible enclosures and describes the required air gap and kit, so read that section before framing in wood.
Does it need electricity?
Yes. The manual says the side burner draws power through a wire harness from an Echelon Diamond grill’s power supply box, or from an optional independent power supply ordered through the dealer if there is no Echelon grill in the island. Either way the supply plugs into a weatherproof 120 volt, 15 amp GFCI receptacle.
Is it available for propane?
Yes. Use the Gas Type selector on this page; natural gas ships as 32816 and propane as 32816P per the Specifications tab. The manual requires a gas line of at least 1/2 inch inside diameter and notes that long runs may need larger pipe to hold pressure at full output. Other side burners are listed here.
Is a lid included?
Yes, a stainless steel lid covers the burners when they are not in use. The manual says to keep the lid on between uses but never to operate the burners with it in place, and never to cover more than 75 percent of the cooking surface with pots or griddles, since trapped heat will overheat the unit.
Which cooking grid comes with it?
Fire Magic offers the double side burner with either a porcelain cast iron grid or a stainless steel grid; the manual’s parts list shows both as alternatives. The grid type is not a selector on this page, so contact us before ordering if you need a specific grid to match your other Echelon pieces.
