Fire Magic Echelon E660i Built In Grill with Digital Thermometer: a 30 inch gas grill with phone temperature monitoring
The Fire Magic Echelon E660i Built In Grill with Digital Thermometer is a 30 inch built in gas grill from Fire Magic’s top line. Built in means it slides into a cutout in an outdoor kitchen island, so it has no legs of its own. Fire Magic builds it in the USA from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors. Three cast stainless steel burners give 75,000 BTUs, and they are so thick that Fire Magic guarantees them for life. It gives you about 660 square inches of cooking space plus a warming rack.
The grates are Diamond Sear grids, thick stainless steel bars with a flat top for clean sear marks, and flavor grids under them turn drippings into smoke and keep flare ups down. The double walled hood holds heat like an oven, and halogen lights inside light the grates after dark. Push a knob in and a glow plug lights the burner, so plan for an outlet in the island. A touch screen under the black glass shows the oven heat, reads the included meat probe, and sends both to your phone. An infrared back burner at the rear runs the included rotisserie, so a chicken or a roast turns and bastes itself. On the page you pick natural gas or propane, and a Magic View Window, a glass panel in the hood for checking food without lifting the lid, is optional. Prefer a dial in the hood? The Fire Magic Echelon E660i Built In Grill with Digital Thermometer ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How much cooking area does the 30-inch Echelon have?
The primary grid is 30 by 22 inches, or 660 square inches, powered by 75,000 BTUs from three cast 304 stainless steel burners. A 30 by 8 inch warming rack sits above, and an 11,000 BTU recessed infrared backburner with a stainless cover handles rotisserie work. Two interior halogen lamps light the grid for evening cooking.
Does the E660i share a cutout with the griddle and pizza oven?
Yes. The opening is 31 1/4 inches wide, 23 1/2 inches deep and 11 1/2 inches high, and the Fire Magic spec guide shows the same cutout and liner for the Echelon and Aurora 30-inch grills, the gourmet griddles and the built-in pizza ovens. That makes it easy to line up matching units in one island with a single cutout template.
How does the digital thermometer work?
The under-glass digital display on the black glass panel shows oven temperature, meat probe temperature and a cooking timer, and its smart technology lets you monitor from a smartphone; the manual names the RHP Connect app. The digital meat probe and its bamboo storage box are listed as standard parts and the probe can stay in the meat with the hood closed.
What electrical supply is required?
A weatherproof 120 volt, 15 amp GFCI outlet within reach of the enclosure, per the Echelon owner’s manual. It powers the glow-type electronic ignition, the two interior lights, the digital thermometer and the rotisserie motor. If power is unavailable the manual describes lighting each burner by hand through its lighting tube.
Is a rotisserie kit included?
The manual’s parts list for the E660i includes the super heavy-duty rotisserie motor and spit rod as standard items, and the infrared backburner is built in. Slide the motor onto its bracket on the right side, remove the flavor grids only if a large roast needs clearance, and keep the motor out of the rain.
Can I add the Magic View Window?
Yes. The Optional Magic View Window selector on this page adds the glass hood panel; the upcharge appears there. Ordering it gives you the -W model number shown in the Specifications tab. The window lets you watch food without opening the hood and losing heat. Compare widths in built-in grills.
What warranty applies?
The Fire Magic spec guide linked in the Catalog tab carries the warranty table: cast stainless burners, cooking grids and the housing for as long as the original purchaser owns the grill, valves and backburner assemblies 15 years, infrared burners and flavor grids 5 years, the under-glass touch controls 2 years, and ignition and electronics 1 year, for single-family residential use.
