Monessen Courtyard: an outdoor gas fireplace with a traditional log fire look
The Monessen Courtyard is an outdoor gas fireplace built into a patio wall. Your contractor frames a structure around it on the patio and finishes it in stone, stucco, or brick. It comes 36 or 42 inches wide. Pick the size on the page. The opening is 30 inches tall. The stainless steel box resists rust. Inside, stainless steel panels mirror the flames, or brick panels give you a traditional hearth look. It puts out up to 55,000 BTU for warmth on the patio. It needs no vent pipe or chimney because the exhaust vents out the front of the unit.
It is set up for natural gas. Ask us before you order if you need propane. IntelliFire ignition lights it from a wall control, so no pilot burns while the fire is off. On the page you pick the size, the interior panels, and the wall control. The logs are sold separately. Add the standard or high definition log set on the page. How natural do the flames look on this outdoor fireplace?
Convincing enough that guests look twice. The log set is ultra-realistic, and the flames weaving through it are the mesmerizing, irregular kind rather than a tidy gas ring. Monessen leans on that pairing to give the Courtyard instant ambiance, which is what sets it apart among outdoor fireplaces that settle for a burner and a grate.
Can you really have a fire going the moment guests arrive?
Yes. The Courtyard lights at the flip of a switch from its wall control, so there is no kindling ritual and no trip out with a lighter. Flip it on your way to the patio and the flames are already working by the time everyone sits down, then off just as easily at the end of the night.
What look does the premium stacked brick interior give?
A modern-rustic middle ground. The premium stacked option lays the brick in a tight stacked pattern with neutral tones, so the firebox reads current without abandoning warmth. It sits alongside the classic patterns in the Courtyard’s interior lineup, and it exists for exactly this problem: outdoor rooms whose stone and furniture are contemporary but whose fire should still feel like a fireplace.
What size wall cavity does the 42-inch version frame into?
Give the builder three numbers: 48-1/2 inches of framing width, 34-1/4 inches of height, and 20-1/4 inches of depth. That is the cavity the Courtyard 42 drops into before finishing, and since the depth stays close to 20 inches, the wall that holds it never has to become a bulky monument.
Should the patio go traditional here, or linear like the Lanai?
Ask what the fire should feel like. The Courtyard holds a tall 30-inch window of flame over a log fire, the shape of a hearth you would find indoors. The Lanai runs a low ribbon of fire through glass, pure modern landscape lighting. Houses with brick, shutters, or a garden usually vote Courtyard; poured concrete and clean lines vote Lanai.
What is the Courtyard actually built from?
Rust-resistant stainless steel. Monessen builds the shell from it so the structure shrugs off rain, humidity, and freeze-thaw cycles instead of quietly corroding behind your stone veneer. It is the unglamorous decision that determines whether an outdoor fireplace is still sound in year ten, and here it is standard rather than an upgrade.
What does the drain pan in the feature list actually do?
It answers for the weather. Rain and sprinkler overspray eventually find every outdoor appliance, so the Courtyard includes a drain pan that collects incidental water and carries it off rather than leaving it standing inside the unit. It is a small piece of insurance that quietly lengthens the life of everything the elements are trying to shorten.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
