Real Fyre Charred Majestic Oak: trunk sized gas logs for a big fireplace
The Real Fyre Charred Majestic Oak is a vented gas log set. Its thick oak logs copy wood that has burned for hours. They suit lodge rooms and oversized fireplaces. It is a vented set, so it needs a real fireplace with a working chimney and burns with the damper open. You get the tallest and most natural flames, and most of the heat goes up the chimney. It comes in six sizes, from 24 to 60 inches. Measure your firebox at the front, at the back, and front to back, and if you land between two sizes, take the smaller set.
Each log is molded from a real piece of wood, cast in a ceramic made for high heat with a steel rod inside, and painted by hand. The price is for the logs only. On the page you pick natural gas or propane and add the burner. The choices are the G45, the G45 in stainless steel for an outdoor fireplace, or the G46, which hides its controls. You also pick how it lights: by hand with a match on natural gas, with a knob and a pilot light that stays lit, or with a remote. A Fyreback, a steel panel that stands behind the fire, is optional. FAQ
Which charred set should a huge firebox start with?
The Charred Majestic Oak. Its trunk-scale logs are sculpted for presence, and the size run climbs to widths no other Charred Series stack reaches – so lodge fireplaces, great rooms and oversized masonry openings get char detailing built to their proportions rather than an upsized compromise.
Exactly what sizes does the CHMJ offer?
Seven, the deepest run in the collection: 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 60 and 72 inches. Fine steps at the common widths, genuine coverage at the giant end. The smaller charred stacks pick up openings under 24 inches – browse the full Real Fyre vented gas logs lineup.
Which burners drive a set this large?
The G4, G45 and stainless G45 vented systems, matched to your CHMJ size and factory-built for natural gas or propane. At the 60 and 72-inch end these are serious hardware pairings, so lean on your installer to spec the burner and valve train for the firebox.
What size gas logs do I need for my opening?
Measure front width, back width and depth, then pick the largest CHMJ that clears both widths – and when the tape lands between two sizes, take the smaller. With seven sizes in the run, the gap between candidates is rarely more than a few inches.
Does a 60 or 72-inch set drink gas?
More than a small one, honestly – consumption tracks the burner BTU rating, and wide fireboxes take wider burners. You stay in control, though: flame height adjusts down for everyday burning, and the CHMJ looks convincing at modest settings because the char detail, not raw fire, carries the realism.
How should I clean logs this big?
Cold system first, then a soft brush or vacuum brush head over each log – never water or household cleaners on the painted ceramic. The larger CHMJ trunk pieces are heavy and awkward, so lift them straight up off their positions rather than dragging, and reset the arrangement exactly.
Should a brand-new log set have a smell at first?
A faint one, yes. Binders and paint on new ceramic cure over the first several fires, and with the CHMJ that break-in scent vents up the open flue as it fades. It is temporary and normal; a raw gas odor at any point is neither – call your installer.
