SaunaLife S6N: a natural wood hot tub heated without electricity
The SaunaLife S6N is a wood fired outdoor hot tub for up to seven people. It holds 436 gallons, with a stainless steel stove inside the tub to heat the water without electricity. The natural golden wood surround gives it a warm look for the backyard. It is made from thermo spruce, which is spruce baked in a kiln to resist moisture and rot. This treatment helps it last up to twice as long as cedar. The tub measures 89 inches across, so allow space for that footprint and the matching wood steps. Inside, a dark gray fiberglass liner is shaped for comfortable seating.
The tub arrives fully assembled with the stove, steps, and a polished stainless steel chimney with a cap. An insulated dark gray cover folds back for removal and storage. A drain tap lets you empty the tub. You can add wood wax, paraffin oil, or cleaner on the page. Prefer a black exterior? See the SaunaLife S6B hot tub. The SaunaLife S6N ships from My Cozy Outdoors by flat rate freight with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How long does it take to heat, and how much wood does it use?
The SaunaLife S6N heats in under two hours using its stainless steel stove with two heat compartments, and keeping the cover on helps it heat faster. Use only dry, seasoned wood with logs up to 16 inches long, never charcoal. Owners report a few logs per soak, but wood use depends on the starting water temperature and weather.
How do I control the temperature?
The fire size controls heating, with no thermostat. SaunaLife's manual says to heat to about 105 degrees at most, so stop adding wood a little before that and let the remaining fire finish heating the water. Stir to even out the warmer top and cooler bottom, and add cold hose water if it gets too hot.
Does it need electricity or plumbing?
No, it needs neither electricity nor plumbing. Fill it with a garden hose and drain it through the built-in tap. The chimney and cap are included.
Is there anything I must do before lighting the stove?
Yes, fill the tub until the water is well above the stove section before lighting it, and never heat an empty or frozen tub. Never leave the fire unattended, and let the embers burn out before draining. SaunaLife's manual calls for at least 13 feet between the tub and any building.
How do I keep the water clean?
Drain through the tap and refill regularly, and keep the insulated cover on between soaks. Wipe the fiberglass liner with household detergent and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasives and chlorine-based cleaners on both the wood and liner. See the Manual tab for the care guide.
What base does it need?
It depends on your property, but you'll need a flat, level, solid base such as a slab or pavers, never lawn. The base must support the 4,187 pounds filled weight listed in the Specifications tab. Most decks need an engineer's check before installation.
Does it arrive assembled?
Yes, it arrives fully assembled on a wooden pallet with the steps, cover, chimney and cap. Freight delivery is curbside by appointment, and the driver only lowers the pallet to the ground, so arrange two or three people to carry the pieces to your setup spot. Inspect the crate before signing and note any damage on the receipt.
Can I use it in winter?
Yes, the wood fire heats it in any weather. In freezing weather, SaunaLife's manual says to drain both the tub and stove after each soak and leave the drain valve open. Ice can crack the liner or stove.
