Superior Ashton White Birch: vented gas logs that look like a stack of birch in your wood fireplace
The Superior Ashton White Birch is a vented gas log set for the wood burning fireplace you already have. Vented means it goes in a real fireplace with a working chimney, and you leave the damper open. Most of the heat goes up the chimney, so it is for the look of a wood fire more than for heating the room. The logs are cast from real birch and hand painted to show the white bark and dark knots. Tall yellow flames rise between them above a bed of glowing embers. The set comes in lengths of 24, 30, or 36 inches. Pick the size on the page.
The burner is not included. On the page you pick the log size and then the burner that fits it. Order it for natural gas or propane. You light it with a hand held remote that runs on batteries. Is the burner included with the Ashton White Birch logs?
The base price covers the log set; the Dual-Burner burner system is chosen on the required Burner selector for your size, with three versions: natural gas with hand-held remote, propane with hand-held remote, or natural gas with the hard-wired 110 V wall control. The placement guide is strict that these logs fit only Dual-Burner burners of the same size, never another manufacturer’s burner.
Does a vented gas log set need the fireplace damper open?
Yes, fully open. The Ashton White Birch set is a vented decorative appliance for use only in a working wood-burning fireplace with a real flue, and the burner ships with a damper clamp that must be fitted so the damper can never close completely. The manual also requires the fireplace screen to stay in place during operation. Because the flue stays open, it is chosen for the look of the fire rather than for heating.
Which size do I need, and what fireplace dimensions are required?
Sizes are 24 in, 30 in and 36 in on the Size selector, rated 55,000, 70,000 and 80,000 BTU on natural gas. For a masonry fireplace the burner manual asks for a front width of at least 36 in, 42 in or 48 in respectively, a rear width of 24, 30 or 36 in, 18 in of depth and 24 in of height. The Specifications tab lists both the front and rear width figures for each size.
Does it need electricity?
The remote versions do not: their electronic ignition runs on batteries, the manual says the appliance must not be connected to any external electrical source, and lighting is done from the hand-held remote. The wall control version is different; it is hard-wired 110 V, with the valve and electronics in a wall box that can sit up to 9 ft from the fireplace. Choose the version on the Burner selector.
What does the remote do?
The hand-held remote supplied with the battery ignition burners covers on and off, a countdown timer and a digital display, and it is the only way to light the pilot on those models; the manual forbids lighting by hand. The wall control burner uses a wall switch or the two-button timer remote and on/off wall switch listed on the Accessories row instead.
Natural gas or propane?
Both. The Burner selector offers a natural gas remote burner and a propane remote burner for each size; the propane version is rated slightly lower at 50,000, 65,000 and 75,000 BTU for the 24, 30 and 36 in sets. The manual asks for a propane tank of at least 100 lb capacity to avoid performance problems. Browse other vented gas logs for more styles.
How are the logs arranged?
The Ashton White Birch placement guide in the Manuals tab shows the layout: the rear log on the rear grate bars, the front log pushed forward against the grate fingers, then three middle logs and the top logs (two on the 24 in set, four on the 30 and 36). It is a complete set that must be installed exactly as drawn and never modified, and logs stay hot after use, so use heat-resistant gloves.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
