Superior DRT4000: a full size direct vent gas fireplace with a bigger firebox and a taller log stack
The Superior DRT4000 is a direct vent gas fireplace built into the wall. It comes 40 or 45 inches wide. Pick the size on the page. It is about 21 inches deep, which is deeper than Superior’s mid size models, so the firebox is roomier and the log stack is bigger. Inside is a high definition ceramic fiber log set on a heavy grate, with a glowing ember bed. Direct vent means a sealed pipe runs to the outside. It brings in air for the fire and carries the exhaust out, so the fire never uses the air in your room. The vent leaves from the top. It puts out up to 28,000 BTU on the 40 and 31,000 BTU on the 45.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Electronic ignition lights it with a button, and a battery backup keeps it running when the power is out. On the page you pick the front. The plain black Vista frame is the simplest, and the Reflection and Craftsman fronts come in black or warm chestnut. You can add a stacked stone liner, a blower, and a remote. What sizes does the DRT4000 come in?
40 in and 45 in full-size models on the Size selector, each 21 in deep for a larger interior and log arrangement than the mid-size DRT3000. The Specifications tab lists 28,000-20,000 BTU for the 40 and 31,000-21,000 BTU for the 45, framed at 40-7/8 or 45-7/8 in wide, 41-1/4 in high and 23 in deep. The flue is top-vent only.
Do I have to pick a front?
Yes. A face selection is required per the Features tab, so the Fronts and Trim selector for your size is a mandatory choice: the black Vista inside-fit frame or the Reflection and Craftsman overlap-fit fronts in black or warm chestnut. The facade stone stop kit, liners (porcelain or stacked ceramic) and stainless surrounds are optional rows.
Will it work when the power is out?
Yes. Electronic ignition with a seamless battery backup and the IPI/CPI switch is standard, so the burner keeps lighting and running during an outage; only the optional blower pauses. Household power is required for normal use, so rough in an outlet at the unit. Blowers and remotes are optional rows on the selectors.
Is it natural gas or propane?
Both: the Fuel selector chooses between the TEN natural gas and TEP propane versions. Electronic conversion kits for a later fuel change are on the Accessories row, along with volcanic stone, glowing and platinum embers and touch-up paint. Browse more Superior gas fireplaces for other depths.
What is included in the box?
Tempered glass with a protective screen, the high-definition ceramic fiber log set on a heavy-duty grate, a black painted interior and the textured powder-coat finish, backed by a 20 year limited warranty. The blower (standard or variable speed) and the remotes, wall timer, thermostat and switches are optional selectors.
Does it need a chimney?
No. It is a sealed direct vent fireplace with a top flue outlet, venting through the roof or up and out an exterior wall with the approved coaxial vent pipe; combustion air comes from outside, not the room. Vent components are separate and sized by your installer from the installation manual linked in the Manuals tab.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
