Superior DRT3500: a mid size direct vent gas fireplace with the blower, lights, and remote built in
The Superior DRT3500 is a direct vent gas fireplace built into the wall. It comes in widths of 35, 40, or 45 inches and is about 17 inches deep. Pick the size on the page. This is the fully loaded version of Superior’s mid size fireplace. The heat runs from 26,000 BTU on the smallest up to 35,000 BTU on the widest.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Direct vent means a sealed pipe runs to the outside. It brings in air for the fire and carries the exhaust out, so the fire never uses the air in your room. Electronic ignition lights it with a button, and a battery backup keeps it running when the power is out. A six speed blower is built in to push heat into the room. Lights inside the firebox have six settings, so it glows even with the fire off. A remote that runs the flame, the blower, the lights, and a thermostat comes in the box. On the page you pick the front, black or warm chestnut, and the liner for the inside walls, black porcelain or stacked stone. Both are required. You can add a surround for a drywall finish. FAQ
What is standard on the DRT3500?
It is the fully featured mid-size traditional: a factory-installed six-speed blower, interior illumination with six settings, the full-function remote (IPI/CPI, thermostat, flame height, blower, lighting), ceramic glass with a protective screen and a high-definition log set are all included, with electronic ignition and battery backup. A front and an interior liner must still be chosen on the selectors.
Which sizes and heat outputs are offered?
35 in, 40 in and 45 in on the Size selector, rated 26,000-23,000, 33,000-27,000 and 35,000-30,000 BTU. Framing is 35-7/8 in wide by 36-1/4 in high for the 35 and 40-7/8 or 45-7/8 in wide by 41-1/4 in high for the 40 and 45, all 18-1/2 in deep on the mid-size 17 in cabinet.
Why does the selector make me pick a front and a liner?
Because the Features tab lists both as required: the fireplace ships as a firebox and you complete it with a Vista, Reflection or Craftsman front on the Fronts and Trim row and a blackstone, greystone or blended brown stacked ceramic liner or black reflective porcelain on the Liner row. Stainless surrounds, a facade stone stop kit, embers and paint are the optional rows.
Does it run in a power outage?
Yes. The electronic ignition has a seamless battery backup with the IPI/CPI switch standard, so the fire lights and burns without household power; the built-in blower and the interior lighting wait for power to return. Plan an outlet at the unit during framing since the blower is factory installed.
Natural gas or propane?
Both are offered on the Fuel selector (the DEP models are propane). For a later change, the Fuel Conversion row for your size lists NG to LP and LP to NG kits to be fitted by a qualified gas technician. See more direct vent fireplaces to compare standard equipment.
How is it vented?
As a sealed direct vent fireplace with a combination top/rear flue collar, it vents up through the roof or out through an exterior wall using the approved coaxial vent pipe and never uses room air. Vent pipe and termination are sized by your installer from the installation manual linked in the Manuals tab and are supplied separately.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. Sizing and heating need to be figured out, as does the building, but we have always had a helpful partner on our side. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
