Quad Fire Pit in GFRC Concrete: a low square concrete fire pit in 18 finishes
The Outdoor Plus Quad fire pit in GFRC concrete is a low, square gas fire pit that sits close to the ground, cast in the USA from a lightweight glass-fiber concrete with the look of solid stone. It comes in a 36 or 42 inch size and 18 finishes, from smooth grays to metallic tones.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The burner, pan, hose, and fittings are included; a key valve, cover, stainless lid, wind guard, and fire glass are optional. Want the same square in metal? See the powder-coated Quad. The concrete Quad fire pit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
FAQ
How heavy is a concrete fire pit like the Quad?
Lighter than it has any right to look. The Quad is GFRC — glass fiber reinforced concrete — which gives the mass and stone-like surface of poured concrete at a fraction of the weight, so it can actually be moved into position. That is the quiet advantage running through every concrete fire pit we carry.
What sizes and finishes does the Quad come in?
Two squares, 36-inch and 42-inch (OPT-QD36, OPT-QD42), in 18 hand-applied concrete colors running from Ash and Black through Limestone and Moss Stone to Vanilla. Each Quad is handmade in the USA, so slight variation in tone and texture is normal — and part of the appeal.
What ignition options can I spec?
Five, covering the full range: Match Lit, Match Lit with Flame Sense (LC certified), Flame Sense with Spark, Low Voltage Electronic (CSA certified), and Plug and Play (CSA certified). The simplest Quad needs no power at all; the fanciest lights from a switch.
Can we roast marshmallows over the concrete Quad?
Yes — propane burns clean, so marshmallows toasted over the Quad are perfectly fine to eat. Just keep drips off the burner: melted sugar on hot media is the one mess that is genuinely annoying to clean off a fire pit.
How hot does it get?
The flame itself exceeds 1,000 degrees, and the Quad radiates comfortable warmth for several feet on all four sides — a square fire pit distributes heat around seating more evenly than people expect. Flame height, and therefore heat, is entirely in your control at the valve.
Is a wood deck an acceptable spot?
Frequently, yes. The Quad throws no embers, and GFRC insulates the deck surface from the burner far better than a thin metal fire pit would. Confirm structural capacity for the 42-inch version, mind the spec-sheet clearances, and check local code before installing.
Can you put a gas fire pit on an outdoor rug?
Not directly under the Quad — a rug can trap heat beneath the base, and most synthetic rugs will not tolerate radiant heat right at the rim. Set the fire pit on hard surface and run the rug up to, not underneath, its footprint.
