Uxmal Fire Pillar in Hammered Copper: a square bowl that catches the firelight
The Outdoor Plus Uxmal fire pillar in hammered copper is a 30-inch gas fire feature with a square, inverted-pyramid bowl on a flared hourglass base, handmade in the USA. The hand-hammered facets scatter the light of the flame after dark, and copper never rusts; it slowly deepens into a warm patina over the years.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The burner, pan, hose, fittings, and lava rock are included; a key valve, cover, stainless lid, bullet burner upgrade, fire glass, and burner ornaments are optional. Prefer stone over metal? The concrete Uxmal comes in 18 colors. The copper Uxmal fire pillar ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How will the copper Uxmal age?
Into a living finish. The hammered copper column starts bright and mellows toward deep bronze patina as weather works on it — and because the Uxmal is vertical, the aging runs in graceful gradients down its faces. Cleaning and a cover hold the shine longer if you prefer it new. Kindred pieces live in our copper fire pit collection.
What is included, and what fuel does it take?
The copper Uxmal ships with fire pan and plate, burner, mounting bracket, whistle-free hose, lava rock, and the orifice for your declared fuel — Liquid Propane or Natural Gas, chosen at purchase. Factory-built to that fuel; connection belongs to a licensed installer.
Manual or electronic ignition?
Either: Match Lit for a fully unpowered column — no wiring anywhere near it — or Low Voltage Electronic (CSA certified) so the Uxmal lights from a switch. Pairs and rows of pillars almost demand the electronic option; nobody wants to hand-light four columns nightly.
How is the flame put out?
Close the valve and the Uxmal goes dark instantly — no embers, nothing to check on later. The copper body sheds its warmth quickly. One habit worth keeping: never splash water onto the hot metal; thermal shock can mark a hammered finish.
Can a pillar stand on a wood deck?
Often — the Uxmal footprint is small and the load modest, well within most deck framing. The gas flame throws no embers, so the usual deck fear does not apply; keep the spec clearances, especially from railings and anything overhead, and confirm local code.
Will an HOA object to a fire column?
Usually the opposite — gas features like the Uxmal are the fire HOAs approve of: no smoke, no embers, no burn-ban exposure, and a footprint smaller than a planter. Submit the spec sheet with clearances if review is required, and have the gas run done professionally.
Could I convert it between natural gas and propane later?
The Uxmal is built to order for one fuel with the correct orifice factory-installed, so the honest answer is: choose right the first time. If an existing column needs to change fuels down the road, contact us and we will take the question to The Outdoor Plus.
