The Outdoor Plus Cazo Fire & Water Bowl - Hammered Copper

Cazo fire and water bowl: hammered copper with a side spill

The Outdoor Plus Cazo fire and water bowl is a round copper cone, hand-hammered in the USA, in 24, 30, or 36 inches, with a broad rolled rim, central flames over lava rock, and one copper side scupper spilling water into the pool. Copper weathers to a blue-green patina.

Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The pan, burner, scupper, hose, and lava rock are included; a key valve, propane tank pedestal, canvas cover, bullet burner upgrade, fire glass, and burner ornaments are optional. Want water on every side? See the Cazo 4-way water and fire bowl. The Cazo fire and water bowl ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ

Will the hammered copper on this Cazo change color over time?

It will, and that is the appeal – poolside sun and moisture push copper from bright penny tones toward a deeper, richer bronze over the seasons. Every copper fire pit ages this way; regular cleaning and a cover slow it if you prefer the original shine.

What sizes does the copper Cazo fire and water bowl come in?

Three: 24-inch (OPT-101-24NWCB), 30-inch (OPT-102-30NWCB), and 36-inch (OPT-102-36NWCB). On most residential pools the 30-inch is the sweet spot; the 36-inch makes a statement on longer walls or paired installations flanking a spa.

What ignition options can I order on this bowl?

Three ways: match lit (simplest), electronic ignition, or match lit with flame sense – an LC-certified setup that monitors the flame and shuts off gas if wind or splash puts it out. That self-policing feature is worth considering on a bowl that lives over water.

Should I use the included lava rock or switch to fire glass?

The copper Cazo ships with black lava rock, which looks sharp against the metal and takes heat well. Fire glass is a fine swap on a gas burner like this if you want sparkle – just use tempered fire glass rated for gas features, never ordinary glass or river stones.

How do I light the Cazo once it is installed?

With match lit, you turn on the gas at the key valve and touch a long lighter or match wand to the burner. With the electronic option, a switch or control system sparks and lights it for you – handy when the Cazo sits across the pool from where you stand.

Can fire and water run together on this Cazo?

Yes. The scupper with its 3/4-inch inlet runs off your pool’s circulation while the burner runs off its own gas line, so each has its own control. Flame reflecting off the spilling water is the whole reason people buy this bowl.

Who typically installs a copper fire and water bowl like this?

Pool builders handle most Cazo installations, since the bowl needs a water feed, a gas line, and solid anchoring on the bond beam in one coordinated job. Your local gas professional makes the final connection. Plan the lines during pool design if you can – it keeps costs down.

Some silhouettes never go out of style. Named after the traditional Spanish cooking pot it resembles, the Cazo’s clean tapered cone has become The Outdoor Plus’ signature — and one of the most recognizable fire features in outdoor design.

Line a row of them along a raised bond beam, crown a pair of pillars at the spa, or anchor a quiet corner with a single bowl — then repeat the same shape as a fire bowl, fire & water bowl, water bowl, planter, or planter & water bowl. One silhouette, five roles, five finishes, in sizes from intimate to grand.

One Bowl, Five Ways

Cazo Fire Bowl

09Fire Bowls

The classic: a gas burner beneath a bed of lava rock fills the cone with a tall, open flame. Runs on natural gas or liquid propane, match lit or electronic ignition.

Best for: pool decks, pillars & seating areas

Cazo Fire & Water Bowl

12Fire & Water Bowls

Flame on top, waterfall below — while the burner runs, a scupper spills a smooth sheet of water from the bowl into the pool beneath it.

Best for: spa & pool surrounds

Cazo Planter Bowl

16Planter Bowls

No gas, no plumbing — the same sculptural cone finished as an oversized planter, so living greenery can echo your fire and water bowls.

Best for: entries, steps & softening hardscape

Cazo Planter & Water Bowl

18Planter & Water Bowls

Plants grow in the center while water pours from the scupper beneath them — greenery and moving water sharing one bowl.

Best for: pool walls & raised bond beams

Cazo Water Bowl

20Water Bowls

A pure water feature: the bowl fills and continuously spills from its scupper, adding movement, sound and reflection to the poolscape.

Best for: symmetrical spills along the pool edge

What’s Included In Your Bowl

Exploded diagrams of match lit and low voltage Cazo fire bowls and fire and water bowls

Match Lit Bowls

Ship complete with the burner, fire pan, lava rock, coupling, NG or LP gas orifice, whistle-free hose and ventilating mounting plate — light it by hand, no power needed.

Low Voltage Electronic

Adds a pilot igniter and SWEIS valve for flames at the flip of a switch. Every electronic ignition system runs off a low-voltage transformer.

Fire & Water Bowls

Add a scupper and a dedicated water line, so the same bowl that holds the flame also pours into the pool below.

Liquid Propane

LP applications use a brass air-mixer orifice that blends air into the propane for a cleaner-burning flame — preventing soot from staining the bowl and its surroundings.

Natural Gas

NG applications come with a brass orifice mounted directly under the burner. Key valves must be mounted within arm’s reach of the burner.

Mounting Brackets

Fire bowls ship with a mounting bracket that provides ventilation and a secure mount — the warranty is void if it isn’t properly installed.

Fire Media

Top the burner with the included lava rock. Fire glass isn’t recommended on liquid propane — propane is heavier than air and can pool beneath dense glass.

Fire and water, in one sculptural bowl

A fire & water bowl is two features in a single piece: a gas flame dancing above the rim, and a built-in scupper pouring a smooth ribbon of water into the pool below. By day it works as an elegant fountain; after dark the flame lights up the falling water and reflects across the whole pool.

Everything arrives ready to install

Match lit

The simplest system — open the gas and light the burner by hand. No electricity, nothing to wire. Burner, fire pan, lava rock, gas fittings and mounting hardware are all in the box.

Exploded diagram of a low voltage electronic ignition fire and water bowl with pilot igniter, SWEIS valve and low voltage transformer

Low-voltage electronic ignition

Start the flame from a switch, timer or home automation — a 12V system adds a pilot igniter and SWEIS valve, powered by the included low-voltage transformer.

Scupper & water line

Your pool’s circulation pump feeds the scupper for a clean, glassy arc of water back into the pool.

Whistle-free hose

A properly sized gas connector that eliminates humming — all you hear is fire and falling water.

Ventilating mounting plate

Anchors the bowl and ventilates the gas connection; proper installation keeps the warranty valid.

Gas orifice — NG or LP

NG bowls use a brass orifice under the burner; LP bowls use an air-mixer orifice for a clean, soot-free flame.

Ideas for your pool

Choose how the water falls

The scupper shapes the water as much as the bowl shapes the fire — and most bowls come in several spill styles: classic scupper, gravity spill, wide spill, twin & 4-way, 360° and wave. One bowl makes a focal point; a row transforms the backyard.

Wood grain concrete

Durable GFRC cast with a realistic wood-grain texture.

Hammered copper

Artisanal, long-lived, and nearly maintenance-free.

Stainless steel

Key valve placement

Key valves mount within arm’s reach of the burner — or add OPT-KVI for a factory-installed valve on the bowl.

Professional installation

Bowls tie into gas and pool plumbing; the mounting bracket must be properly installed for the warranty to apply.
