Tempe Fire Pit in Metal: a 48-inch round fire pit in copper, Corten, stainless, or powder coat
The Outdoor Plus Tempe fire pit from the Metal Collection is a 48-inch round gas fire pit with a Greek-inspired silhouette that invites people to gather around it, handmade in the USA. Pick the metal: hammered copper that deepens into a patina, Corten steel that weathers to a protective rust, stainless steel that never changes, or powder-coated steel in many colors.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The burner, pan, hose, fittings, and lava rock are included; a key valve, cover, stainless lid, and fire glass are optional. Prefer cast stone? See the GFRC concrete Tempe. The metal Tempe fire pit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
Which metals does the Tempe Metal Collection cover?
One 48-inch design, four metal personalities: hand-hammered copper (OPT-TEMCPR48) that deepens into patina, Corten steel (OPT-TEMCS48) that weathers to protective rust, stainless steel (TEMSS48) that never changes, and powder coat (OPT-TEMPC48) in colors like Java, Pewter, and Silver Vein. The copper build sits alongside the rest of our copper fire pit family.
What hardware comes with the Tempe fire pit?
The Tempe ships with its fire pan and plate, burner, mounting bracket, orifice for Natural Gas or Liquid Propane, whistle-free hose, and lava rock. Choose your fuel at order — the unit is factory-built to match it — and have a licensed installer make the final connection.
What ignition options can it be built with?
All five: Match Lit, Match Lit with Flame Sense (LC certified), Flame Sense with Spark, Low Voltage Electronic (CSA certified), and Plug and Play (CSA certified). A Match Lit Tempe needs zero wiring; the electronic builds light from a switch and supervise their own flame.
Can a metal fire pit sit on a wood deck?
With the right precautions, yes. The Tempe is gas — no embers — so the wood-deck question becomes structure and heat: confirm framing, hold the spec clearances, and put a paver or stone pad beneath to keep radiant heat off the boards. Then check local code.
How is the fire extinguished?
Close the valve and the Tempe is out — instantly, completely, nothing left glowing. Metal bodies shed heat quickly too, so it is cool enough to cover soon after. One caution for the copper version: never splash water on hot metal; let it cool on its own.
How far from the house should it go?
Start with the Tempe spec sheet clearances, then the ten-foot rule of thumb from walls and overhangs. Emberless gas is the reason fire features get to live near patios at all — but combustible siding, pergola posts, and low eaves still deserve their distance.
Will weather damage the finishes?
No — each Tempe metal is chosen for outdoor duty. Rain speeds the intended aging on copper and Corten, does nothing to stainless or powder coat, and the only universal chore is drying the pan and media before lighting. Cover it through the off-season and it stays light-ready.
