Fire Magic Choice C430s: a gas grill on a permanent ground post
The Fire Magic Choice C430s In Ground Post Mount Grill is a 24 inch post mount gas grill. Post mount means the grill head sits on a stainless steel post with a shelf on each side, set in a concrete footing in the ground. Choice suits a first outdoor kitchen or a patio without an outlet. Fire Magic builds it in the USA from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors. Two stainless steel tube burners give 46,000 BTUs. It gives you about 430 square inches of cooking space plus a warming rack.
The grates are Diamond Sear grids, thick stainless steel bars with a flat top for clean sear marks, and flavor grids under them turn drippings into smoke and keep flare ups down. The double walled hood holds heat like an oven and lifts with two fingers. It lights with a spark when you turn the knob, so it needs no electricity and no batteries. A dial in the hood shows the oven heat at a glance. A one hour timer in the post shuts the gas off by itself, which matters on a shared patio. On the page you pick natural gas or propane, and it comes built for that gas. Fire Magic covers the burners, the cooking grids, and the body for as long as you own the grill. Prefer a base that bolts down? See the Fire Magic Choice C430s Patio Post Mount Grill. The Fire Magic Choice C430s In Ground Post Mount Grill ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How is the in-ground post grill installed?
The post is set into concrete for a permanent installation rather than bolted to a slab. The Fire Magic spec guide linked in the Catalog tab shows the C430s-G6 post extending 18 inches below grade, so plan a footing that depth before the gas line is run. The patio-mount version with a bolt-down base plate is listed separately.
How tall is the grill once it is set?
Per the spec guide, the in-ground C430s stands 49 7/8 inches with the hood closed and 57 1/8 inches open, with the shelf tops at 36 inches. The post is 5 1/2 inches across and the grill head with shelves spans about 51 1/4 inches wide and 25 1/4 inches deep. An accessible version at 32 inches exists for wheelchair users.
Does it need an outlet or batteries?
No. The Choice series uses turn-to-light spark ignition with no power required and no batteries to change, and the thermometer in the hood is analog. That makes the post grill simple to place anywhere a gas line or propane cylinder can reach.
Can I run it on propane?
Yes. Select Propane on the Gas Type selector for the C430s-RT1P-G6 version. A propane cylinder needs its own holder or a vented non-combustible enclosure near the post; natural gas installs run a line to the post with a shut-off valve nearby. Compare other pedestal gas grills here.
How much cooking area and heat does it have?
The main grid is 24 by 18 inches, or 432 square inches, with a 24 by 8 inch warming rack above it. Two 16-gauge tubular stainless steel burners deliver 46,000 BTUs under patented Diamond Sear cooking grids and 304 stainless flavor grids. The double-walled 304 stainless hood opens 90 degrees on a spring assist.
What warranty comes with the Choice post grill?
The Fire Magic spec guide in the Catalog tab lists the coverage: Choice stainless steel burners, cooking grids and the grill housing for as long as the original purchaser owns the grill, valves and manifolds for 15 years, flavor grids for 5 years and the ignition system for 1 year, for single-family residential use.
