DuraVent DuraChimney II 14 inch Kit Builder: choose a whole chimney on one page
The DuraVent DuraChimney II 14 inch Kit Builder is a page for choosing a complete fireplace chimney. There is no base price. Your selections add up to the total. DuraChimney II is DuraVent’s air cooled chimney, a double wall pipe in 8 to 16 inch sizes for fireplaces that burn wood, oil, coal, or gas. Match the fireplace’s outlet diameter, and confirm its maker lists DuraChimney II. Choose at least one pipe section, in lengths of 12, 18, 36, or 48 inches, and your quantities. For a sideways shift, add two separately sold 15 or 30 degree elbows.
Then select the other parts your chimney needs. The first pipe section rests on an anchor plate on the fireplace top. A firestop spacer fits beneath each floor or ceiling the chimney crosses, not at the roof. An insulation shield goes at the entrance to an open attic. A roof radiation shield belongs at the top of the chase, the enclosure around the chimney, or at the roof exit, whichever ends the run. Need the largest diameter? See the DuraVent DuraChimney II 16 inch Kit Builder. The DuraVent DuraChimney II 14 inch Kit Builder ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How do I price a 14-inch DuraChimney II chimney on this page?
Select the parts and the page totals them. The 14-inch Length of Chimney Pipe row is required (12, 18, 36 or 48 inch sections in any quantity); then add 15 or 30 degree elbows if you need an offset and the components from the Build Your Chimney Kit row, from the anchor plate through the shields, chase top flashing, storm collar and cap. Each line shows its price on the selector.
Which fireplaces need a 14-inch chimney?
Large wood, oil, coal or gas fireplaces with a 14-inch flue collar whose manual approves DuraChimney II. Match the collar exactly: a chimney smaller than the outlet drafts poorly and builds creosote. DuraChimney II is a unitized, double-wall, air-cooled chimney listed to UL 103 and ULC S604 with a 430 stainless inner wall and a galvanized outer wall.
Do I need the Anchor Plate, and which one?
Yes, every DuraChimney II chimney starts with an Anchor Plate fastened to the fireplace top with four sheet metal screws; the first section twist-locks onto it. The Anchor Plate with Damper adds a chimney damper, but DuraVent warns it may be used only where the fireplace manufacturer allows it, so check the fireplace manual before choosing that option.
How much 14-inch pipe and support do I need?
Measure anchor plate to cap and subtract 1 inch per joint; plan a minimum of 10 to 15 feet of chimney above the fireplace outlet (30 to 60 percent more with elbows) and satisfy the 3 feet above the roof, 2 feet above anything within 10 feet rule. Add a Wall Strap every 8 feet, a Supplementary Support above 50 feet total (each holds 25 feet) and a Stabilizer inside the chase.
What do the European Copper adapters and Snow Splitter add?
The King and Bishop adapters let the chimney finish in a European Copper decorative pot instead of the standard cap, following DuraVent’s copper-pot instructions in the Instructions tab. The Snow Splitter is a roof-mounted wedge that divides sliding snow around the chimney on steep or metal roofs. Both are optional lines in the Build Your Chimney Kit row.
Where do the firestop, shields and flashing go?
A Firestop Spacer goes at every floor or ceiling the chimney passes, the Attic Insulation Shield in an attic, the Roof Radiation Shield where the chimney leaves the chase, and the Chase Top Flashing on top with a 1/2-inch air gap, capped by the Storm Collar and Chimney Cap; keep 2 inches to combustibles throughout. Other collar sizes are in the DuraChimney II category.
