Majestic Ashland: an open wood fire with a flush hearth
The Majestic Ashland is an open indoor wood burning fireplace built into a wall. It comes 36, 42, or 50 inches wide. Pick the size on the page. Every opening is 38 inches tall. It is an open fireplace with no glass, so nothing sits between you and the fire. Radiant means the heat comes straight off the fire, with no fan to wire or run. The fireplace floor can sit level with your room floor. Inside, brick panels come in straight rows or an angled herringbone pattern.
Your builder frames a wall around it, runs the chimney, and finishes it in stone, tile, or brick. The chimney pipe is sold separately, so ask us to quote the run. On the page you pick the size and the brick panels. You can add black folding glass doors or an outside air kit. It can also take a Majestic gas log set, which you can add on the page. The Majestic Ashland ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
Which size should I choose, and what does the selector change?
The Size selector on this page covers all three Ashland models: 36, 42 and 50 inch viewing widths, each 38 inches tall. Every size shares a 27-1/2 inch unit depth and a 74-1/8 inch unit height; only the width grows, from 46-7/8 inches on the 36 to 52-7/8 and 60-7/8 inches on the larger units. Framing widths run one inch wider than the unit.
Is this an open fireplace with no glass?
Yes. This is an open wood fireplace with a large firebox and no glass in front of the fire; the Features tab calls out the expansive viewing area and a custom masonry appearance. Heat is radiant, so there is no fan to wire or run, and the flush hearth design lets the fireplace floor sit level with the room floor.
Do I have to pick an interior brick panel?
Yes, the Interior Panels selector asks for one finish per size. You choose between Traditional and Herringbone brick patterns in Natural Gray, Antler Velvet, Black Onyx or Masonry Brown, and the price of each panel set is shown on the selector. Among wood burning indoor fireplaces, this is one of the more customizable open-hearth designs.
Can I add gas logs instead of burning wood?
The description says gas log sets are available for this open fireplace, and the Gas Logs selector offers 3-Tier Grand Birch, Grand Oaks and Heritage Oak sets in 18, 24 or 30 inch lengths with a remote-controlled burner for natural gas or propane. Pick the log set, size, fuel and burner in the order flow and the set ships with the fireplace.
What hearth and ceiling clearances does the architect guide call for?
The linked Ashland 36 architect guide shows a hearth extension of at least 20 inches in front of the opening with an insulation R value of 2.32 or greater, a minimum of 7 feet from the base of the fireplace to the ceiling, and 2 inches of air space around the chimney pipe. Treat the installation manual as the final word on clearances.
Which accessories can be ordered on this page?
Besides panels and gas logs, the selectors offer a black glass bi-fold door, a 59 or 72 inch wood mantel shelf in Fillmore or Ozark styles with primed, unfinished or stained options, and 60 or 72 inch non-combustible shelves in several colors. Everything you tick is priced on the selector, so the total updates before you check out.
Is the Ashland sold in Canada?
No. The product description states this fireplace is not available in Canada, and the architect guide lists only the US UL 127 listing code. Buyers in the United States can order any of the three sizes; the Manuals tab holds the installation and owner’s manuals plus service parts lists for the 36, 42 and 50 inch units.
