Real Fyre G31 Mountain Crest Oak: whole oak logs over a three tier burner
The Real Fyre G31 Mountain Crest Oak is a vented gas log set. The rounded mountain oak trunks have rugged bark. They look like a stack of whole firewood rather than heavily charred logs. It is a vented set, so it needs a real fireplace with a working chimney and burns with the damper open. You get the tallest and most natural flames, and most of the heat goes up the chimney. It comes in six sizes, from 18 to 39 inches. Measure your firebox at the front, at the back, and front to back, and if you land between two sizes, take the smaller set.
Each log is molded from a real piece of wood, cast in a ceramic made for high heat with a steel rod inside, and painted by hand. The price is for the logs only. On the page you pick natural gas or propane and add the G31 burner. You also pick how it lights: by hand with a match on natural gas, with a knob and a pilot light that stays lit, or with a remote. The G31 burner is built in three tiers, so the flames rise up through the logs instead of under them, and you get a taller, fuller fire on less gas than a flat burner gives. Why does the MCO ship with its own placement diagram?
Because a three-tiered burner is not a flat grate. Each G31 log set, the Mountain Crest Oak included, has a specific arrangement that positions every log across the tiers so flame channels between them instead of striking faces. Real Fyre publishes the MCO placement instructions for exactly this reason; set it once correctly and it stays put.
What sets Mountain Crest Oak apart from other charred looks?
It reads as whole mountain timber: full rounded oak trunks with rugged, high-definition bark and natural coloration, less about dramatic char and more about the heft of real cordwood. If the split-log sets look like a fire in progress, the MCO looks like a serious stack of hardwood just catching.
How does the Mountain Crest Oak get lit?
That depends on the valve ordered with the G31 burner. Match-lit natural gas systems light with a long lighter at the burner, standing pilot valves stay ready all season and fire from the knob, and remote-equipped valves ignite from the handset. Whatever the configuration, the MCO logs simply sit above it; follow the lighting instructions packed with the burner.
Is a set like this decorative only, or will I feel it?
You will feel it at the hearth. Like all vented gas logs, the MCO sends most combustion heat up the open flue, but its refractory ceramic mass radiates warmth into the room during the fire and continues after shutoff. Treat it as ambiance with a genuine warm glow, not a heating appliance.
Is a remote required to use gas logs?
No. Remotes are one option among several. The MCO’s G31 burner can be ordered match-lit, with a manual valve, with a standing pilot, or with remote and variable-flame controls, and the logs perform identically on all of them. Choose the control level that fits how you use the fireplace, not the other way around.
How do I know which of the five MCO sizes to order?
Measure the firebox front width, back width, and depth, then match against the run: MCO-18 spans 18 to 20-inch openings, then MCO-24, MCO-30, MCO-33, and MCO-39. The 33 and 39-inch sets are the notable ones, since few log lines stretch that wide. Between sizes, take the smaller set for proper clearance.
What actually drives the price of a gas log setup?
Three things: set size, burner platform, and controls. A 39-inch MCO with an electronic valve and variable-flame remote sits well above an 18-inch match-lit configuration, even though the ceramic artistry is the same. Decide firebox size first, then the burner system, then spend the remainder on the control convenience you will actually use.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
