Superior DRL4000: a wide linear direct vent gas fireplace from four to seven feet across
The Superior DRL4000 is a large linear direct vent gas fireplace built into the wall. Linear means the opening is low and wide, like a letterbox. It comes in widths of 48, 60, 72, or 84 inches. Pick the size on the page. The flames rise in a long line through black reflective crushed glass, behind ceramic glass that passes more heat into the room. Tile or stone can run right up to the opening.
It is set up for natural gas, and a propane conversion kit is on the page. Direct vent means a sealed pipe runs to the outside. It brings in air for the fire and carries the exhaust out, so the fire never uses the air in your room. The heat runs from 35,000 BTU on the smallest up to 50,000 BTU on the widest. Electronic ignition lights it with a button, and a battery backup keeps it running when the power is out. On the page you can add a see through kit that opens the back so two rooms share the fire. On the smallest size there is a version that puts the second side on the patio. What sizes does the DRL4000 come in, and what heat output does each have?
Four linear widths: 48 in, 60 in, 72 in and 84 in, chosen on the Size selector. The Specifications tab lists 35,000-23,500 BTU for the 48, 40,000-28,000 for the 60, 45,000-31,500 for the 72 and 50,000-35,000 for the 84, with framing widths of 55-5/8 in, 74-1/4 in, 86-1/4 in and 98-1/4 in. The 48 also frames shorter at 39-1/8 in versus 48-1/2 in for the larger three.
Can this fireplace be installed as a see-through unit?
Yes, with a conversion kit from the Configuration Kits selector. The fireplace ships as a one-sided unit; the indoor see-through kit is available for every size, while the indoor/outdoor see-through kit that lets you enjoy the fire from a patio is offered for the 48 in model only. One caution from the manual: the optional blower kit is not compatible with a see-through kit and must be removed or disabled if both are installed.
Can I mount a TV above the DRL4000?
The installation manual gives guidance rather than a promise: keep a TV at least 12 in above the fireplace on a flush wall or 18 in in a recessed pocket, and check the TV maker’s temperature limits, since IHP does not take responsibility for heat damage to electronics. The HeatFlo kit on the Configuration Kits selector redirects heat away from the wall above and is what the manual frames a recessed TV pocket around.
What does the HeatFlo kit do?
HeatFlo is an optional duct kit that carries convective heat from the fireplace up to a register higher on the wall, so the zone directly above the opening stays cooler for heat-sensitive wall hangings or a television. The Smart Sheet linked in the Manuals tab shows the extra framing height it needs and a 6 in minimum from the register to the ceiling. Add it, and the matching flex extension, on the Configuration Kits selector.
Does it keep working if the power goes out?
Yes. The electronic ignition includes a battery backup, so the burner can still be lit and run during an outage; the optional blower and any wall-powered accessories stop until power returns. Normal operation uses household power for the ignition system, so an electrical supply must be roughed in at installation. Remotes are listed on the Remote selector above.
Which media and liner come standard, and what can I change?
Reflective black crushed glass media and a black painted interior are included; the clean-face design has built-in tile stops so the wall finish can run right to the opening. Optional looks on the selectors are blue or platinum crushed glass, a river rock set, a high-definition driftwood log set, a reflective black glass liner and a black linear trim surround. How is a linear direct vent fireplace vented?
Through a sealed direct vent pipe (IHP 6DVL components) that can run up through the roof or out an exterior wall, so no masonry chimney is required and the room’s air is never used for combustion. The manual notes a little condensation on the glass at start-up is normal and clears after 10-20 minutes as the sealed system stabilizes. Vent routing and lengths follow the manual’s tables and must be done by a qualified installer.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
