Superior WRE4500: a big stainless outdoor wood burning fireplace with a 30 inch tall opening
The Superior WRE4500 is a large outdoor wood burning fireplace. It comes in widths of 36, 42, or 50 inches, with an opening 30 inches tall. Brick runs right to the face, so no sheet metal shows. Pick the size on the page. Your contractor frames a structure around it, runs the chimney, and finishes it in stone, stucco, or brick. The firebox is stainless steel and insulated all around, so it works in cold climates. A large smoke dome above the fire draws smoke up cleanly. It is also approved for use indoors.
It burns real logs and needs a 12 inch double wall chimney. Inside are brick panels, a heavy stainless steel log grate, and a damper you can reach easily. Stainless steel mesh screens come with it. The chimney pipe is sold separately, so ask us to quote the run. On the page you pick the brick pattern for the inside, stacked or herringbone. What chimney does the WRE4500 use?
The IHP 12DM or 12HT double-wall chimney system, 12HT required in Canada; chimney sections and termination are quoted separately from this listing. Its massive smoke dome with no visible smoke shelf is designed for reliable draft, and the installation manual linked in the Manuals tab gives the minimum chimney height for outdoor and indoor installs.
Which sizes are available?
36 in, 42 in and 50 in on the Size selector, all at the same base price, with stacked or herringbone refractory panels on the Brick Pattern selector. All have a 30 in tall brick-to-face opening with no visible sheet metal. Framing is 45-1/4, 51-1/4 or 59-1/4 in wide, 67-1/8 in high and 28-1/4 to 30-1/8 in deep.
Can I use it indoors as well?
Yes. The description says it is approved for both indoor and outdoor installation, built in appliance-grade stainless steel with a fully insulated firebox for colder climates. The chimney height rules differ for each, so give your installer the manual. Compare more wood burning outdoor fireplaces.
Can I add gas logs?
Yes. The Features tab lists optional gas log sets for the charm of a wood fire with the convenience of gas, and the vent-free logs brochure is linked in the Manuals tab. Superior’s Dual-Burner vented sets also list the WRE4500 among certified fireplaces. Log sets are separate purchases sized to the 30 in opening.
Are doors and outside air available?
Yes. Black-trim bi-fold glass doors are on the Door selector for each size, and the Outside Air selector adds the 4 in collar with hood and 3 ft flex, the collar and hood only, or a floor-vent version for the dual left- and right-hand outside air kits the Features tab recommends. Stainless steel mesh fire screens and a stainless log grate are included.
What hearth does it need?
A non-combustible hearth extension in front of and beside the opening, sized per the installation manual, protects a wood deck or floor; the manual also sets mantel and side-wall clearances. The easy-access damper control and stainless construction are built in, so the extras are the chimney, hearth and any doors.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. She was always super responsive and helpful throughout the process. Don't kid yourself, getting a really nice sauna is not that easy. Sizing and heating need to be figured out, as does the building, but we have always had a helpful partner on our side. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
