The Outdoor Plus Tempe fire pit in GFRC concrete is a 48-inch round gas fire pit with a clean, sculptural, Greek-inspired shape, cast in the USA from a glass-fiber concrete that carries the weight and mineral feel of poured stone at a size you can actually position. It comes in 18 hand-applied finishes, from smooth grays to rustic and metallic tones.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The burner, pan, hose, fittings, and lava rock are included; a key valve, cover, stainless lid, and fire glass are optional. Like the shape in metal? See the Tempe Metal Collection. The concrete Tempe fire pit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is GFRC on the Tempe Fire Pit?
Glass fiber reinforced concrete — cement cast with embedded glass fiber, delivering the mass and mineral surface of poured concrete at a weight that can actually be delivered and positioned. The 48-inch Tempe (OPT-TEM48) uses it for a clean, sculptural body in 18 hand-applied colors, handmade in the USA.
What is in the box with it?
A complete fire system: fire pan and plate, burner, orifice for Natural Gas or Liquid Propane, whistle-free hose, nipple, and lava rock. The Tempe wants only a proper gas connection — by a licensed installer — before its first light.
What ignition configurations are offered?
The Tempe is built to order with your choice of ignition, from straightforward Match Lit to Match Lit with Flame Sense (LC certified) and the other certified systems The Outdoor Plus offers. Match Lit needs no electricity; the supervised options add automatic flame monitoring.
What is the lighting ritual?
For Match Lit: open the key valve gently, touch a long lighter to the burner, and the Tempe is alight — five seconds, no kindling, no smoke in your eyes. Electronic builds compress even that into a button press. Shutdown is the valve turned back.
How hot does it actually get?
Gas flame exceeds 1,000 degrees at the source; around the Tempe that becomes a comfortable radiant zone extending several feet, adjustable at the valve. Concrete also banks a little warmth, so the rim stays pleasant to gather near even as the flame runs low.
Are marshmallows okay over the propane Tempe?
Yes — propane burns clean, so marshmallows over the Tempe are safe and taste exactly right. Work at the flame tips, keep melted sugar off the lava rock, and the included media stays presentable. It is a genuinely family-friendly format for a concrete fire pit.
Is a covered patio placement possible?
Only where the Tempe spec sheet clearances truly fit — vertical clearance above a 48-inch fire pit is substantial, and ventilation must be real, not nominal. If your roof is low or air is still, give it open sky; the concrete finish is built for weather anyway.
