Wave fire urn: a 37-inch concrete vase with a wave-cut rim
The American Fyre Designs Wave fire urn is a tall oval vase, 20 inches across and 37.5 inches tall, that tapers to a small footed base. Its wave-cut rim rises at the back and dips at the front to show off the flame. It’s cast in concrete reinforced with glass fibers, giving it the look of stone at a fraction of the weight, and comes in seven colors.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Turn the knob and press the igniter to light it; the urn comes with the manual control only. A 12 inch stainless steel star burner sits in the top and puts out up to 60,000 BTU. The burner, pan, fittings, and lava granules are included, and you pick the fill on the page: lava, fire glass, or glass gems. A canvas cover and a side table that hides a propane tank are optional. Prefer a straight slanted rim? See the Eclipse fire urn. The Wave fire urn ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How do the Wave and Eclipse urns differ?
They are siblings with different waistlines. The Wave is the slimmer column at about 20 inches across, while the Eclipse spreads to 23; both stand 37.5 inches tall with a 12-inch stainless steel star burner. The Wave’s refined textured finish carries its own character, so the choice usually comes down to which profile your space wants.
Will the Wave squeeze into a tight corner?
Few fire features fit tighter. Its base is only about 20 inches in diameter, so the Wave occupies less floor than a patio side table while carrying flame more than three feet in the air. Corners, narrow planting strips, and the edges of entertainment areas all work – places where a bowl or table simply would not fit.
Does the propane Wave conceal its tank?
It can. Propane models offer an optional access door that houses a standard 5-gallon tank inside the column itself, so nothing sits beside the urn to break the sculptural line. The natural gas version plumbs to a fixed line instead. It shares that tidy approach with our other fire features with hidden propane tanks.
What burner drives the Wave’s flame?
A 12-inch stainless steel star burner rated up to 60,000 BTUs, governed by a manual flame sensing control – the only system offered on this model. Certified to ANSI standards, the star layout spreads fire in several directions at once, giving the slender urn a full head of flame that belies its 20-inch footprint.
What style does the Wave’s texture suit?
The refined textured finish is drawn for modern and transitional outdoor decor – enough surface interest to feel handcrafted, which each urn is, in the USA, without tipping into rustic. It reads beautifully at close range near seating and along walkways, and the texture softens the concrete so the column feels sculptural rather than industrial.
Where can a sculptural fire urn go?
Patios, gardens, poolside retreats, and entertainment areas are its native settings. Use it where a fire feature should behave like landscape sculpture: marking the end of a path, warming a corner of the terrace, or standing in a planting bed where its raised flame shows over the greenery. It works solo wherever a focal moment is needed.
Is a propane tank included with the Wave?
No – the optional access door is sized for a standard 5-gallon propane tank, but the cylinder itself is not included. Pick one up before the first evening you plan to light the urn; any hardware store or tank exchange carries them, and swapping an empty for a full one takes minutes.
