Eclipse fire urn: a 37-inch concrete vase with a slanted rim and flame on top
The American Fyre Designs Eclipse fire urn is a tall, narrow vase, 23 inches across and 37.5 inches tall. Its angled rim rises higher at the back, giving you a clear view of the flame from the front. It is cast in concrete reinforced with glass fibers, which looks like stone at a fraction of the weight, and comes in seven colors.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Turn the knob and press the igniter to light it; the urn comes with the manual control only. A 12 inch stainless steel star burner sits in the top and puts out up to 60,000 BTU. The burner, pan, fittings, and lava granules are included, and you pick the fill on the page: lava, fire glass, or glass gems. A canvas cover and a side table that hides a propane tank are optional. Prefer a straight rim? See the Wave fire urn. The Eclipse fire urn ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How big is the Eclipse fire urn?
The Eclipse stands 37.5 inches tall on a footprint only 23 inches across. That vertical proportion is the whole idea: rather than spreading flame low and wide the way a bowl or table does, it lifts the fire toward eye level while claiming about as much floor space as a large planter. Narrow patios and tight corners suddenly qualify for a fire feature.
How much heat does the Eclipse put out?
Up to 60,000 BTUs from a 12-inch stainless steel star burner, which is serious output for a piece this slender. The Eclipse is a genuine source of warmth for a seating circle, not just a decorative flame, and because the burner rides at the top of the column, the fire stays visible over chair backs and furniture instead of hiding below them.
Does the Eclipse come in natural gas and propane versions?
Yes, you choose your fuel at purchase. The natural gas model connects to a plumbed line, while the propane version can be ordered with an optional access door that conceals a standard 5-gallon tank inside the column, keeping the cylinder entirely out of view. The tank itself is not included, so factor one into your setup.
How do you start the flame on the Eclipse?
The Eclipse is available only with a manual flame sensing control; there is no electronic ignition option on this model. You open the valve and light the burner by hand, and the flame sensing function cuts the gas supply if the flame goes out. It is a deliberately simple system, with no batteries to change and nothing to pair or program.
Why choose a fire urn over a low fire pit?
Height changes how a fire works in a space. A low pit disappears behind furniture; the Eclipse is a sculptural column with a handcrafted textured finish that earns its spot even unlit, drawing the eye upward and marking an entry, corner, or axis in the garden. It is the first fire urn among our gas fire pits, made for buyers who want a focal point rather than a coffee table.
Why is the Eclipse cast in GFRC?
A tall, slender fire feature needs strength without crushing weight. GFRC, glass fiber reinforced concrete, gives the Eclipse the presence and texture of carved stone at a fraction of the mass, and each urn is handcrafted in the USA with a textured surface finish. The material is weather-resistant, so the column can live outdoors permanently as part of the landscape.
Does a gas fire pit need an electrical outlet nearby?
Not this one. Because the Eclipse runs on a manual flame sensing control rather than electronic ignition, it requires no wiring, outlet, or batteries, only its gas supply. That opens up placement options that powered fire features rule out: the middle of a planting bed, the far end of a path, anywhere a gas line or the propane setup can reach.
