HUUM Hive 12: a commercial grade round heater for saunas from 424 to 883 cubic feet

The HUUM Hive 12 is a floor standing electric sauna heater made in Estonia for large home saunas and commercial rooms, rated at 12 kW for spaces from 424 to 883 cubic feet. Its round stainless steel body measures 22 inches across and 29.5 inches tall and sits on adjustable legs. It weighs 44 pounds empty and holds 552 pounds of stones. The stones rest directly on the heating elements for soft, even heat and steam that lasts well into a session.

The heater comes with adjustable legs, an air tunnel insert, and the manual. The insert speeds heating by about a quarter and reduces the stone capacity to about 463 pounds when fitted. It needs a HUUM UKU control and the UKU extension box to run, and you add both on the page. Choose the Wi-Fi version and you can start the sauna from your phone. How much stone does it hold?

A huge 552 pounds, or about 463 pounds when the included Air Tunnel is fitted. The boxes of HUUM Stones 24 small (5-10 cm) stones are listed in the Required Stones add-on on this page, so add the stone order there rather than buying elsewhere.

What does the Air Tunnel in the box do?

Per the includes tab, it is a stainless-steel housing installed in the center of the heater that speeds up heating by 25 percent, improves air circulation, and extends heating element lifespan. The trade-off is roughly two fewer boxes of stone capacity.

What electrical service does a 12kW heater take?

The specification table lists 50 amps at 240V single-phase, with the circuit breaker column reading 30 + 30 and wire size 10 + 10 AWG – two dedicated circuits. Have a licensed electrician plan and wire it to the manual and your local code.

How is it delivered?

By palletized freight with a special delivery appointment; the driver lowers the shipment curbside at ground level. The listed shipping weight with stones is just under 600 pounds, and the store contacts you before dispatch to sort out any tricky delivery circumstances.
