Monessen Solstice: a gas insert for your existing wood burning fireplace
The Monessen Solstice is a vent free gas insert. An insert slides into the wood burning fireplace you already have and turns it into a vent free gas heater. A surround plate covers the old opening. It comes 33 inches wide, with a 31 by 17 inch window. Inside, you can have a brick look or black panels behind the flames. A built in fan pushes warm air into the room. It puts out up to 28,000 BTU, enough for the room the fireplace is in.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Vent free means it needs no chimney or vent pipe at all, and nearly all the heat stays in the room. Check your local code first, since some areas restrict vent free fireplaces. Millivolt means it has a standing pilot and needs no electricity, so it keeps working when the power is out. IPI means intermittent pilot ignition: it lights the pilot only when you turn the fire on, so no gas burns while the fire is off. Pick one on the page. What does the Solstice turn an old wood-burning fireplace into?
It turns an old, wasteful wood-burning fireplace into an efficient gas heat source rated at 28,000 BTUs on natural gas or 27,000 on propane. Like other ventless gas fireplace inserts, it needs no venting installed, so the upgrade happens without extensive renovation or construction. The opening you rarely lit becomes a heater you will actually use.
How big is the fire view on the 33-inch model?
The single 33-inch model carries a 31 by 16.5 inch viewing area, a wide, clean window on the flames for an insert. Monessen kept the face simple so the expansive view is the point, and behind it the fire is doing real heating work at up to 28,000 BTUs rather than serving as decoration.
What does the standard blower do?
It comes standard, not as an accessory, and powers up heat output by moving warmed air out into the room instead of letting it linger at the hearth. If the fireplace you are replacing sent most of its warmth up the chimney, the pairing of vent-free efficiency with a standard blower is what makes the change feel dramatic.
Which interior finishes can I choose?
Two are offered: traditional brick for a classic masonry look, or reflective black glass for a modern one that bounces the firelight around the firebox. Either way the interior is meant to blend with your decor, so the finished install reads as a real fireplace that belongs to the room rather than an appliance set into an old opening.
Can you run the fire from the couch?
Yes. Control is by hand-held remote or wall switch, whichever suits the way the room is used. Just as valuable, the insert operates without household power, so it keeps producing heat through the coldest winter months even when a storm drops the electricity, which is precisely when a backup source of warmth matters most.
How disruptive is the installation?
Minimally. There is no venting to install and no need for extensive renovations or construction. The insert goes into the existing fireplace opening, takes its gas connection, and is finished, which is why Monessen describes the conversion as quick and easy. You get the upgrade without tearing the room apart or budgeting for masonry work.
How big a project is going from wood fires to gas heat?
With an insert, it is closer to an equipment swap than a construction project. There is no venting to run, no power hookup required, and no rebuilding of the existing fireplace. You pick the natural gas or propane version, choose a brick or black glass interior, and once it is set in place you run everything from the remote or wall switch.

We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
