Real Fyre Charred Oak Enhanced: deeply charred logs with a fuller flame
The Real Fyre Charred Oak Enhanced is a vented gas log set. The oak logs have deeply blackened split bark faces and ashy gray tones. They copy wood that has already burned for hours. It is a vented set, so it needs a real fireplace with a working chimney and burns with the damper open. You get the tallest and most natural flames, and most of the heat goes up the chimney. It comes in 18, 20, 24, or 30 inch sets. Measure your firebox at the front, at the back, and front to back, and if you land between two sizes, take the smaller set.
Each log is molded from a real piece of wood, cast in a ceramic made for high heat with a steel rod inside, and painted by hand. The price is for the logs only. On the page you pick natural gas or propane and add the burner. The choices are the G45, or the G45 in stainless steel for an outdoor fireplace. You also pick how it lights: by hand with a match on natural gas, with a knob and a pilot light that stays lit, or with a remote. Enhanced means the Flame Enhancer Kit comes in the box: a back log with ceramic fiber in it, a reflective steel panel, and black embers. Together they give a fuller flame and push more heat into the room than the standard set. A Fyreback, a steel panel that stands behind the fire, is optional. Prefer the standard version? See the Real Fyre Charred Oak vented gas log set. The Real Fyre Charred Oak Enhanced ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What does one SKU get me with the CHD-FE?
Everything for a flame-enhanced installation in a single box: the Charred Oak log set in your size plus the Flame Enhancer components – a ceramic-fiber back log, a reflective aluminized steel panel and black ember material. Real Fyre packages it for new installs; see the Flame-Enhanced gas logs line.
Which sizes can I order it in?
Three: CHD-18/20-FE, CHD-24-FE and CHD-30-FE, matching 18/20, 24 and 30-inch fireboxes. Every size ships with enhancer components scaled to match, so the small set is as complete as the large one. Measure width front and back plus depth before choosing between them.
What burner platforms work here?
The G4, G45 and G45 stainless steel vented systems. The panel and back log integrate behind the log arrangement regardless of which you pick, and each burner comes factory-set for natural gas or propane. Your installer matches the platform to the firebox and fuel supply for the CHD-FE.
Does the enhancement translate into real warmth?
That is its purpose: the ceramic-fiber back log holds and re-emits heat while the reflective panel bounces radiant energy toward the room instead of the back wall. The CHD-FE remains a vented, damper-open product, but it pushes noticeably more of its warmth forward than a bare set does.
Is this harder to install than a regular log set?
Not meaningfully. It is the same professional job – gas line, burner placement, damper clamped open – with the panel and back log going in per the CHD-FE diagram before the front logs. Because everything arrives together, there is no retrofit step later; one visit sets the whole system.
What are the lighting options on this set?
They follow the burner, not the enhancer: match-lit ignition with a wand lighter, a seasonal standing pilot, or electronic ignition with switch or remote, specified when you configure the G4 or G45 platform. The enhancer components are passive – nothing extra to light on a CHD-FE.
Any smell from the enhancer parts when new?
A mild one at first is expected – fresh ceramic fiber, panel coatings and ember material all cure during the initial burns, and the open flue clears the scent from the room. It fades within a few fires. A gas smell is a different matter entirely: shut off and call for service.
