Real Fyre Charred Oak: a vented gas log set with a charred wood look
The Real Fyre Charred Oak is a vented gas log set. Blackened split bark and ashy gray copy oak burned for hours. The classic oak stack fits a traditional room. It is a vented set, so it needs a real fireplace with a working chimney and burns with the damper open. You get the tallest and most natural flames, and most of the heat goes up the chimney. It comes in 18, 20, 24, or 30 inch sets. Measure your firebox at the front, at the back, and front to back, and if you land between two sizes, take the smaller set.
Each log is molded from a real piece of wood, cast in a ceramic made for high heat with a steel rod inside, and painted by hand. The price is for the logs only. On the page you pick natural gas or propane and add the burner. The choices are the G45, the G45 in stainless steel for an outdoor fireplace, or the G46, which hides its controls. You also pick how it lights: by hand with a match on natural gas, with a knob and a pilot light that stays lit, or with a remote. A Fyreback, a steel panel that stands behind the fire, is optional. The Real Fyre Charred Oak ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What gives the Charred Oak its burnt look?
Real Fyre artisans sculpt and paint the set from real samples of deeply charred wood, recreating blackened split-bark faces and the ashy graying that oak develops after hours in the fire. Lit, that char detail sits right in the flames, which is what sells the burning-all-evening illusion.
How do I clean gas logs?
With the system off and fully cool, lift soot and dust with a soft brush or a vacuum with a brush attachment. Never scrub the painted ceramic with household cleaners or water, and check the burner ports for debris while you are in there. Once or twice a season is plenty for the Charred Oak.
Which firebox widths does the Charred Oak cover?
Four set sizes: 16-inch, 18/20-inch, 24-inch, and 30-inch, which covers most standard masonry and prefab fireboxes. If your opening runs wider than 30 inches, step up to the Charred Majestic Oak, which carries the same charred styling in larger formats.
Will gas logs work without electricity?
The Charred Oak runs on vented burners, G4, G45, G45 stainless, or G46, available with match-lit or standing-pilot valves that need no household power at all. Choose one of those controls and your fireplace keeps working in an outage; only certain remote and electronic options depend on batteries or a plug.
Do gas logs use a lot of gas?
Consumption is set by the burner you pair with the logs, not the logs themselves, and vented burners are sized to firebox width. An evening fire generally draws on the order of a large range burner rather than a furnace, and it varies with the BTU rating and flame height you choose.
Can I put the Charred Oak in my existing wood-burning fireplace?
That is exactly what it is for. Any code-approved, fully vented fireplace with a working flue can host this set; the damper simply stays open when burning, just as with firewood. Have a qualified installer run the gas line and set the burner, then keep the logs arranged per the manual.
Charred Oak or Charred Royal English Oak, how do I choose?
Both come from the same charred-artisan school. The Charred Oak (CHD) reads as a tighter, classic oak stack, while the Royal English Oak version carries heavier, more gnarled trunks. It is purely an aesthetic call, since sizes and compatible burners overlap, so pick the silhouette that suits your hearth.
