SaunaLife CL5GB: the black cube with upper, lower, and side seating
The SaunaLife CL5GB is an outdoor sauna kit with a cube shape and room for four. You can sit on the upper or lower bench, or take the side bench. This B version includes the black exterior paint in the box for you to brush on yourself. The bronze tinted glass across the front and in the door gives you a view of the yard from inside. Allow 80.7 by 63 inches for its footprint on your patio. The kit also includes roof shingles and ventilation.
A white LED light bar comes with the kit, along with a handheld remote and a Wi-Fi app for controlling the light. The heater is sold separately, so choose one of the 4 electric heater packages on the page, from 6 to 7.5 kW, each with its control and stones. FAQ
What does the B in the model name mean, and do I have to paint it myself?
B means the SaunaLife CL5GB includes two containers of PROSAUNAS SaunaShield black exterior sauna paint, and yes, you brush it on yourself after assembly. Follow the paint manual in the Manual tab and apply it outside only, never inside the hot room. The paint expands and contracts with the weather and will need a fresh coat over the years to stay black.
Does this sauna come with a heater, and what size should I pick?
No, a heater is not included. The Select Heater add-on on this page has four electric packages sized for this room, ranging from 6 to 7.5 kW, each with controls and stones. Choose one when ordering or buy one later, with the higher kW option suited to colder climates.
What electrical work does it need?
It depends on your property and heater choice, but every package needs a licensed electrician to hardwire its own dedicated 240 volt circuit, using the heater's manual to determine breaker and wire sizing. These heaters cannot plug in, share a dryer, hot tub, or EV circuit, or use extension cords. Have your electrician check the installation requirements for your site, including buried conduit and a weatherproof disconnect for outdoor runs, and mount the LED power unit outside the hot room in a weatherproof box you provide.
What do I put under it? Can it go on a deck?
Yes, if your deck is built to carry the weight, which depends on your property. Use a firm, flat, level base such as compacted gravel topped with pavers, a concrete slab, or a suitable deck, and see the Specifications tab for the 1,680 pound shipping weight. Avoid bare grass or soil because it holds moisture against the wood, and an uneven base can leave wall pieces misaligned and the door unable to latch.
How long does it take to build?
Plan on a full weekend for a first build, based on owner reports. SaunaLife rates the cube kits for two people, and hanging the door is the step to take slowly. Allow a separate day for the electrician's visit.
Does the glass front lose heat in winter?
Yes, the glass front loses a little more heat in deep cold, though the sauna is built for year-round outdoor use. In freezing weather, heating often takes 45 to 90 minutes instead of 30 to 45 minutes. Keep the vents clear.
How many people really fit?
Four people is the maximum seated capacity on the benches. Plan on two or three people if you want room to stretch out or lie down.
What is thermo spruce, and does it smell like a sauna?
Thermo spruce is Nordic spruce treated with heat and steam in a kiln so it absorbs less moisture, moves less with the weather, and can last up to twice as long as cedar outdoors. It has a mild toasted smell, rather than cedar's strong aroma, and no resin. Bare wood turns silver gray over time without affecting its function, while this model uses black paint as its exterior finish.
How is it delivered?
It arrives by appointment on a freight truck, packed on a wooden pallet for curbside delivery only. The driver lowers the pallet to the ground, so have two or three people ready to carry the pieces to your build site. Inspect the crate before signing and note any damage on the receipt.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
