Saunum Air L 15 package: the largest Saunum set for a club sized sauna
The Saunum Air L 15 package is a floor standing electric sauna heater set with its control and stones. It is the largest set Saunum makes, with a 15 kW heater for a club or spa sized room. It heats 530 to 812 cubic feet and needs a ceiling at least 87 inches high. The air intake extends upward to reach the ceiling, letting the fan draw from the hottest part of the room. That intake adjusts by sliding out, much like a telescope.
The package includes the heater, the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi control with its power unit and door sensor, and 6 boxes of rounded sauna stones. On the page you choose stainless steel or Nordic black. You can also add a safety rail or a bucket and ladle set. Already have an AirIQ control? Choose the Saunum Air L 15 heater on its own. The Saunum Air L 15 package ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
FAQ
What comes in the Air L 15 package?
The Includes tab lists the 15.2 kW Air L 15 heater with stone basket, hot-air intake and cap, air outlet grille, cool-air intake valve, protective grill, temperature sensor, Himalayan salt tray with seven spheres and manual, the AirIQ Wi-Fi control with power unit and door sensor magnet, and 265 lb of 2 to 4 inch round sauna stones. Both the heater and control carry a 2-year consumer and 1-year commercial warranty.
What room size is 15.2 kW right for?
The page rates this heater for 459 to 741 cubic feet, and the Specifications tab sets a minimum ceiling height of 87 inches because the telescopic hot-air intake reaches up to 95 inches. Calculate length by width by height in feet, then add for glass or masonry surfaces using the Sizing Your Saunum sheet in the Manual tab; when in doubt the manual says go one size up.
How much power does it draw and what breaker does it need?
It draws 63.33 A on a 240 V single-phase supply. The Specifications tab lists an 80 A circuit breaker and number 4 conductors plus neutral and ground to the power unit, which is rated for heaters up to 15.2 kW in the AirIQ manual. A licensed electrician must hardwire it to the NEC and local code, and the heater manual warns against feeding it through a GFCI breaker.
Why does it hold 265 lb of stones?
The Features tab explains that a large stone mass gives softer, more even heat and produces more luxurious, longer-lasting steam, which is central to the Saunum concept. The included stones are rounded olivine diabase, 2 to 4 inches. The manual says to stack larger stones at the bottom to create air channels, never force them between elements, and restack at least once a year, replacing broken pieces.
Is this heater suitable for a commercial or heavily used sauna?
The page describes the Air L as ideal for a more intensively used sauna, and the warranty differentiates 2 years of consumer use from 1 year of commercial use, so commercial installation is anticipated. The AirIQ allows run times of up to 6 hours for public saunas, and its manual requires constant adult supervision by someone not bathing when a public sauna runs continuously.
Can it connect to a smart home system?
The Features tab lists Modbus integration for smart home connection alongside the built-in Wi-Fi interface for the Saunum mobile app. Through the app you can set temperature, fan speed and duration, schedule sessions by day and time, and receive sauna-ready and door-open notifications. Remote starts are blocked while the door sensor reads open.
What finishes and accessories can be added on this page?
Choose the stainless steel or black body under Model Options. Operating Accessories offers the Auto Leil water dispensing unit, the Saunum Safety Rail, which satisfies the manual guardrail requirement around the heater, and the Air Deflector; Sauna Heater Add-Ons cover salt refills and aroma oils, and Sauna Add-Ons a bamboo bucket and ladle.
