Saunum Air L 13 package: the heater, control, and stones in one order
The Saunum Air L 13 package is a 13 kW floor standing electric sauna heater bundled with its control and stones. It brings them together in one order for a sauna room of 424 to 565 cubic feet. You need a ceiling of at least 79 inches. A quiet fan pulls hot ceiling air down through an intake tube that extends upward to reach the ceiling. It blends that air with cooler air near the floor and releases it low in the room. That helps the lower bench feel as warm as the upper bench and makes the steam feel soft.
The package includes the heater, the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi control with its power unit and door sensor, and 6 boxes of rounded sauna stones. On the page you choose stainless steel or Nordic black. The salt tray also holds the optional aroma oils sold here, with sweet orange, grapefruit, or eucalyptus to choose from. Need the largest size? See the Saunum Air L 15 package. The Saunum Air L 13 package ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
FAQ
How does the Air L 13 package differ from the Air L 10 and Air L 15 packages?
Output and room range. This 13 kW model is rated for 317 to 565 cubic feet with a 79 inch minimum ceiling, sitting between the 9.8 kW and 15.2 kW versions. All three share the same 19 by 18.1 inch body, 265 lb stone capacity, telescopic intake and AirIQ Wi-Fi control, so the choice comes down to your calculated room volume.
What is in the box?
The Air L 13 heater with stone basket, hot-air intake and cap, air outlet grille, cool-air intake valve, protective grill, temperature sensor and seven Himalayan salt spheres with tray; the AirIQ Wi-Fi control with soft-touch panel, wall plate, power unit and door sensor magnet; and 265 lb of 2 to 4 inch round sauna stones. Each component carries a 2-year consumer and 1-year commercial warranty, with both warranty PDFs linked in the Manual tab.
What are the electrical requirements?
The Specifications tab lists 240 V single phase, 54 A, a 70 A circuit breaker and two number 6 conductors plus neutral and ground to the power unit. Cable and breaker are supplied and sized by a licensed electrician to the NEC and local code, the heater is wired through the AirIQ power unit rather than directly, and the manual says never through a GFCI breaker.
How long does it take to heat, and what temperature is recommended?
With a properly insulated room and the right heater size, the manual expects 45 to 90 minutes to reach temperature. It recommends bathing between 149 and 176 F, within the 104 to 194 F range the AirIQ can set. Keep the climate fan off while heating, then switch it on as you enter so the blended air keeps bench and floor temperatures even.
Does the sauna room need ventilation for this heater?
Yes, the manual makes both intake and exhaust ventilation mandatory. The fresh-air intake, a 3.25 to 4 inch pipe, goes under or beside the heater; the exhaust sits near the floor as far from the heater as possible with twice the intake diameter, and the room air should change at least six times an hour. The temperature sensor must be kept at least 20 inches from any vent.
How does session scheduling work on the AirIQ control?
In the Schedule menu you pick a day, whether to repeat daily or weekly, the time you want the sauna ready and a preset such as Mild, Hot or Very Hot, then add the event; up to ten schedules can be stored. The app warns you shortly before heating starts so you can cancel, heating will not start if the door is open, and the set temperature is held for 30 minutes after ready.
Which options are on this page?
Model Options selects the stainless steel or black body. Operating Accessories adds the Air Deflector, the Saunum Safety Rail, which meets the manual requirement for a guardrail around the heater, or the Auto Leil water dispensing unit; salt refills, aroma oils and a bucket and ladle set are separate add-ons with prices on the selectors.
