Superior DRT2000: a direct vent gas fireplace with the front included, in three sizes
The Superior DRT2000 is a direct vent gas fireplace built into the wall. It comes in widths of 35, 40, or 45 inches and is about 17 inches deep, so it takes up little floor space. Pick the size on the page. Inside, a yellow flame rises around ceramic fiber logs. The heat runs from 18,000 BTU on the smallest up to 23,000 BTU on the widest.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Direct vent means a sealed pipe runs to the outside. It brings in air for the fire and carries the exhaust out, so the fire never uses the air in your room. On the page you choose the ignition. Millivolt has a standing pilot and needs no electricity. Electronic ignition lights with a button, and a battery backup keeps it running when the power is out. The ceramic fiber log set and black Vista frame front come with it, giving the fireplace a finished look once it is framed in. Does the DRT2000 need a chimney, and what does direct vent mean?
No masonry chimney is needed. The DRT2000 is a sealed-combustion direct vent fireplace: one coaxial pipe (4-1/2 in inner, 7-1/2 in outer) pulls combustion air in from outside and pushes exhaust out, so it never uses room air. The flue collar is a combination top/rear design, so it can vent up through the roof or straight out an exterior wall. Termination kits are offered on the Termination selector above.
Which sizes are available and how much heat do they produce?
Three widths: 35 in, 40 in and 45 in, chosen on the Size selector. The Specifications tab lists input ranges of 18,000-14,500 BTU for the 35, 21,000-17,000 BTU for the 40 and 23,000-18,500 BTU for the 45, with framing widths of 35-7/8 in, 40-7/8 in and 45-7/8 in. All three share the mid-size 17 in depth that keeps the installed footprint shallow. Compare other direct vent fireplaces by size and BTU.
Will this fireplace work during a power outage?
Yes, either way. The millivolt version uses a standing pilot with piezo ignition and needs no household power at all. The electronic ignition version normally runs on line power, but the manual notes that four AA batteries in the built-in holder provide backup so the fireplace keeps operating when the power is out; only the optional blower stops. Pick the ignition type on the Ignition selector.
What is included in the box and what is an extra?
Standard equipment is the tempered glass front, the protective barrier screen, the ceramic fiber log set, the black Vista facade, a black painted interior, and a factory flexible gas connector with a 1/2 in shutoff valve. Everything else is chosen on the selectors above: Reflection or Craftsman fronts, stacked ceramic or porcelain liners, stainless surrounds, blower, remotes and switches, the vent termination kit and fuel conversion kits.
Can I run the DRT2000 on propane?
Yes. Both natural gas and propane models are offered; choose on the Fuel selector so the correct valve and orifices ship from the factory. If your fuel changes later, the Accessories row lists NG to LP and LP to NG conversion kits for the millivolt and electronic versions. Conversion and the gas connection itself must be done by a qualified gas technician following the installation manual.
How far can the vent run through a wall or roof?
The installation manual allows up to 25 ft of near-level horizontal run for a wall termination and up to 60 ft of vertical run through the roof, with a vent restrictor required on longer runs (more than 6 ft horizontal or vertical). Vent pipe keeps 1 in air space to combustibles. Only IHP Secure Vent, Secure Flex or Z-Flex GA components are approved; your installer sizes the run from the manual’s vent tables.
How close can a combustible mantel sit above the opening?
It depends on how deep the mantel projects: the manual’s mantel chart raises the required height as the shelf gets deeper, and any shelf, sill or trim above the fireplace counts. A non-combustible mantel can go at any height as long as nothing hangs below the fireplace hood. Superior recommends high-temperature paint (rated 175 F or higher) on the underside of a combustible mantel to avoid finish damage.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
