Superior VRE6000: a big outdoor gas firebox lined with real kiln fired brick in four colors
The Superior VRE6000 is a large outdoor vent-free gas firebox. A firebox is the steel shell that holds the fire. Your contractor frames a structure around it on the patio and finishes it in stone, stucco, or brick. It comes in widths of 36, 42, or 50 inches, with an opening 30 inches tall and brick running right to the face. Pick the size on the page. What sets it apart is the Mosaic Masonry liner. It is real kiln fired firebrick, not a molded panel, so the inside looks like a mason built it. Choose full or split brick, stacked or herringbone, in ivory, midnight, slate gray, or warm red. The front and every surface exposed to weather are stainless steel. The box is insulated all around.
Vent-free means it needs no chimney or vent pipe at all. It is the firebox only. Stainless steel mesh screens come with it. You add an outdoor vent-free gas log set, sold separately, and the logs set the heat. On the page you pick the brick liner. It is required. You can add an outside air kit. Prefer molded brick panels? See the Superior VRE4500 outdoor gas firebox. The Superior VRE6000 ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is Mosaic Masonry on the VRE6000?
A kiln-fired firebrick liner with an integrated ash lip that gives a true masonry interior. It is required and chosen on the Brick Pattern selector (full or split brick, stacked or herringbone) and the Brick Color selector (Ivory, Midnight, Slate Grey or Warm Red). The base price is the stainless firebox; the liner is added on those rows.
Does it include a log set?
No. It is a firebox for an outdoor vent-free log set listed to ANSI Z21.97, such as Superior’s Giant Timbers Outdoor or Mossy Oak Outdoor, whose 19 in logs suit the 30 in tall brick-to-face opening. Browse those sets and the other outdoor gas fireplaces that take them.
Which sizes are offered?
36 in, 42 in and 50 in on the Size selector, with framing of 45-3/8, 51-3/8 or 59-3/8 in wide, 54-5/8 in high and 28-1/4 to 30-1/8 in deep per the Specifications tab. The cabinet is fully insulated for colder climates and has gas line knockouts on both sides.
Does it need a chimney?
No vent or chimney; the custom masonry look is achieved without a flue. The log set uses room air, so the manual’s ventilation-air check and local vent-free rules apply. For outdoor combustion air the Outside Air selector lists the 4 in collar with hood and 3 ft flex, the collar and hood only, and a floor-vent version, fitted left or right through the gas line knockouts.
How is it built for outdoors?
The front face and all weather-exposed surfaces are 304 stainless steel, with stainless steel mesh fire screens included, and the firebrick liner is kiln-fired for outdoor use. Follow the installation manual linked in the Manuals tab for the chase, drainage and clearances.
VRE6000 or WRE6000?
Same Mosaic Masonry liner options and sizes; the VRE6000 is the vent-free gas version with no chimney, while the WRE6000 is the wood-burning version that needs the IHP 12DM or 12HT chimney and offers an ebony bi-fold glass door. Choose the VRE6000 for gas convenience and no flue, the WRE6000 for a real wood fire.
