Superior WRT4500: a big wood burning fireplace with a 30 inch tall brick to face opening
The Superior WRT4500 is a large indoor wood burning fireplace. It comes in widths of 36, 42, or 50 inches, with an opening 30 inches tall. Brick runs right to the face, so no sheet metal shows. Pick the size on the page. Your builder frames a wall around it and finishes it in stone, tile, or brick. A large smoke dome above the fire draws smoke up cleanly. The firebox is insulated all around. On the page you pick the brick pattern for the inside, stacked or herringbone.
Inside are brick panels with a built in ash lip, a heavy cast iron grate, and forged andirons. Mesh screens come with it. It burns real logs and uses a 12 inch double wall chimney. The chimney pipe is sold separately, so ask us to quote the run. You can add bi-fold glass doors in black and an outside air kit for the left or right side. It can also take a gas log set later. Want real kiln fired brick in a color you choose? See the Superior WRT6000 wood burning fireplace. The Superior WRT4500 ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What sizes does the WRT4500 come in?
36 in, 42 in and 50 in models on the Size selector, all at the same base price, each with a 30 in tall brick-to-face opening and no visible interior sheet metal. Framing is 45-1/4, 51-1/4 or 59 in wide, 67-1/8 in high and 28-1/4 to 30-1/8 in deep per the Specifications tab. All models are fully insulated and clean-faced only.
Which brick pattern do I choose?
Stacked (included) or herringbone textured brick panels on the Brick Pattern selector, both with an integrated ash lip. The description notes the standard models include your choice of the two patterns; the price difference shown on the selector is for the herringbone and for the larger sizes.
What chimney does it need?
12 in venting: the IHP 12DM or 12HT double-wall chimney system, 12HT required in Canada, quoted separately. The massive smoke dome is designed for reliable draft, and the installation manual linked in the Manuals tab sets chimney heights and clearances for a qualified installer. See more wood burning indoor fireplaces.
What is included?
A heavy-duty cast iron log grate with rugged forged andirons, mesh fire screens, an easy-access damper control and the brick panels. Black-trim bi-fold glass doors are on the Door selector, and the Outside Air selector adds the collar, hood and flex kit; the Features tab notes dual left- and right-hand outside air kits for maximum performance.
Can I use gas logs?
Yes. The Features tab lists optional gas log sets, and Superior’s Dual-Burner vented log manual names the WRT4500 among its certified fireplaces; the vent-free logs brochure is linked in the Manuals tab. Log sets are separate purchases sized to the 30 in tall opening.
Is it a heater?
No; it is an open-hearth wood fireplace built for the look of a large masonry fire, with insulation to improve performance in colder climates. Most heat goes up the flue as with any open fireplace. For heating, Superior’s EPA-certified WCT and WRT3920 models are the alternatives.
