The Outdoor Plus Nile Fire & Water Bowl - Metal Collection

Nile fire and water bowl: flame between twin waterfalls

The Outdoor Plus Nile fire and water bowl is handmade in the USA, a steeply angled square pyramid with rectangular flames over lava rock and water sheeting from two wide side spillways. Choose 30 or 36 inches across in hammered copper, stainless steel, or powder coat colors. Copper develops a blue-green patina outdoors.

Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The pan, burner, copper scupper, hose, and lava rock are included; a key valve, propane tank enclosure, canvas cover, bullet burner upgrade, fire glass, and burner ornaments are optional. For a rounder square, try the Avalon twin spill bowl. The Nile fire and water bowl ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ

What finishes does the Nile fire and water bowl come in?

Three metals from one design: hammered copper, brushed stainless steel, and powder coat in 15 colors including Black, White, Silver Vein, Java, Gray, Pewter, Copper Vein, Olive Green, Mist, Soft White, Onyx Black, Bronze Hammertone, Sapphire Blue, White Vein and Gold Vein. Copper ages into a patina, stainless stays bright with zero upkeep, and powder coat matches the Nile to your palette.

What sizes and SKUs does the Nile bowl offer?

The Nile runs in 30-inch and 36-inch bowls – OPT-30NLCPF and OPT-36NLCPF in copper, with matching stainless (OPT-30NLSSF) and powder-coat (OPT-30NLPCF) versions. Every size is built to order for liquid propane or natural gas with match lit or electronic ignition.

What comes in the box with a Nile bowl?

Everything but the plumbing: the bowl, fire pan and plate, burner, copper scupper with a 3/4-inch male connection, nipple, lava rock, and your chosen ignition – match lit kit or the CSA-certified electronic system. Media upgrades like fire glass can go on top of the pan later.

Does the Nile work mounted on a swimming pool wall?

Yes – that is its natural habitat. The Nile sits on the bond beam or a raised wall, the scupper spills into the pool, and the burner rides above the waterline. It also works over spas and fountain basins; any fire bowl placement works if you skip the water hookup.

Can I run the water spill without lighting the fire?

Absolutely. The Nile’s scupper is fed by your pool circulation and the burner by its own gas line, so each runs independently. Daytime, most owners run water only; after dark, fire only or both together – the choice sits at your valve or control panel.

Which trade installs a bowl like the Nile?

Your pool contractor takes the lead – water feed, gas rough-in, and anchoring all land in their scope – with a licensed gas fitter making the final connection. If you are adding the Nile to an existing pool, expect some deck work to route the two lines.

Can a natural gas Nile be converted to propane later?

The Outdoor Plus builds each Nile to order for the fuel you specify at purchase, with the correct orifice installed – so decide NG or LP up front. If you have an existing unit and your fuel situation changed, contact us and we will help sort out options.

Fire and Water Bowl Features

The Outdoor Plus · American-made fire & water features

Fire and water, in one sculptural bowl

A fire & water bowl is two features in a single piece: a gas flame dancing above the rim, and a built-in scupper pouring a smooth ribbon of water into the pool below. By day it works as an elegant fountain; after dark the flame lights up the falling water and reflects across the whole pool.

Everything arrives ready to install

Match lit

The simplest system — open the gas and light the burner by hand. No electricity, nothing to wire. Burner, fire pan, lava rock, gas fittings and mounting hardware are all in the box.

Exploded diagram of a low voltage electronic ignition fire and water bowl with pilot igniter, SWEIS valve and low voltage transformer

Low-voltage electronic ignition

Start the flame from a switch, timer or home automation — a 12V system adds a pilot igniter and SWEIS valve, powered by the included low-voltage transformer.

Scupper & water line

Your pool’s circulation pump feeds the scupper for a clean, glassy arc of water back into the pool.

Whistle-free hose

A properly sized gas connector that eliminates humming — all you hear is fire and falling water.

Ventilating mounting plate

Anchors the bowl and ventilates the gas connection; proper installation keeps the warranty valid.

Gas orifice — NG or LP

NG bowls use a brass orifice under the burner; LP bowls use an air-mixer orifice for a clean, soot-free flame.

Ideas for your pool

Choose how the water falls

The scupper shapes the water as much as the bowl shapes the fire — and most bowls come in several spill styles: classic scupper, gravity spill, wide spill, twin & 4-way, 360° and wave. One bowl makes a focal point; a row transforms the backyard.

Finishes & good to know

Built to live outside

GFRC concrete

Glass-fiber reinforced — strong, lightweight, weather-resistant. 18 colors.

Wood grain concrete

Durable GFRC cast with a realistic wood-grain texture.

Hammered copper

Artisanal, long-lived, and nearly maintenance-free.

Stainless steel

Rust- and corrosion-resistant — ideal for coastal settings.

Powder coated metal

Tough finish for harsh environments — two dozen colors.

Propane? Use lava rock

Fire glass isn’t recommended with LP — propane is heavier than air and can pool under dense glass media.

Key valve placement

Key valves mount within arm’s reach of the burner — or add OPT-KVI for a factory-installed valve on the bowl.

Professional installation

Bowls tie into gas and pool plumbing; the mounting bracket must be properly installed for the warranty to apply.

Pick your fuel up front

Every bowl comes for natural gas or propane, with the correct orifice for the fuel you choose.
