Corten steel forms its own rust-colored skin outdoors, deepening from orange to brown over its first seasons without paint or sealer, and the largest size holds 20 cubic feet of soil.

What is Corten Steel
COR-TEN® Steel is a high strength steel with a high weathering resistance. COR-TEN® has been a trademarked name used to generalize Weathered Steel. This steel alloy has been used in architecture and sculptural works, it eliminates the need to paint and provides a beautifully unique and aesthetically pleasing look while also providing great rust protection. COR-TEN® has a weather resistance greater than 4~8 times that of ordinary steel. Each of our COR-TEN® Steel Products at The Outdoor Plus are aged to look around 1 month of patina. The texture of the COR-TEN® Steel may be irregular, this is what gives our products and even more unique finish.
COR-TEN® Steel will continue to patina over time into a darker mocha looking metal instead of the bright yellow-orange that it originally started with. What shape is the Sierra planter?
A tall Corten steel drum — round bowls on tapered bases in two heights, 20 and 30 inches, and two diameters, 30 and 46 inches. That height is the Sierra’s signature: it lifts plantings toward eye level, where most planters keep them at your ankles.
How much soil do the four versions take?
OPT-PSR3020 holds 5.5 cubic feet, OPT-PSR4820 about 13.5, OPT-PSR3030 about 8, and the big OPT-PSR4830 a full 20 cubic feet. The upper sizes take small trees and substantial shrubs, not just annual color — genuine landscape-scale capacity.
What exactly is Corten steel?
A weathering steel alloy that forms its own protective rust patina instead of corroding away. The Sierra ships as raw steel and develops its burnt-orange finish naturally outdoors — no paint, no sealer, no maintenance schedule. The look deepens and stabilizes over the first seasons.
Should I worry about rust runoff?
During the first months, yes — a weathering Sierra can shed rust-tinted water onto pale hardscape below. Set it over gravel, planting beds, or darker pavers while the patina cures, or pre-weather it in an out-of-the-way spot before final placement.
Does it match any fire features?
Corten is a signature material across The Outdoor Plus fire bowl lineup, so the Sierra’s rusted finish coordinates naturally with a Corten flame feature — one warm steel tone carried through both the fire and the greenery.
What planting works best in a tall drum?
Use the height: cascading rosemary or trailing vines pouring over a 30-inch-tall Sierra look spectacular, and the deep soil column suits upright grasses, bamboo, or a small specimen tree in the 46-inch sizes. Soil and plants are not included.
Is winter hard on Corten?
No — freeze-thaw cycles that crack terracotta do not trouble weathering steel, and snow simply advances the Sierra’s patina. Keep drainage working so the soil mass is not frozen solid and saturated, and the planter itself will outlast nearly everything around it.

We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
