How to choose a freestanding grill
A freestanding gas grill on a cart gives you room to cook and prepare food. Cart models range from 30 to 54 inches wide, so consider how much patio space you have. For fuel, propane grills need only a tank inside the cart. Our natural gas grills need a gas line and quick-connect nearby.
A post mount grill stays fixed in place. Plug-in electric options suit places where flames aren't allowed; one post model burns charcoal. You can also consider pedestal gas grills for a single-base setup. If you want to move around the yard, browse portable grills.
A freestanding charcoal grill in ceramic can grill, bake, roast and smoke. Sizes range from junior to extra-extra-large, with more options in our charcoal grills collection.
Freestanding or built-in?
A cart grill needs no island cutout. If an outdoor kitchen may come later, we can talk through built-in grills and matching carts.
Why buy from My Cozy Outdoors?

Questions we hear most
Why choose a freestanding grill over a built-in?
A cart model stands on your patio without an island, cutout or construction. You can move it around or take it to your next house. The trade-off is less counter space than an island provides.
Which fuel is best for a freestanding grill: propane, natural gas or charcoal?
Propane suits moving around or having no gas line. Natural gas suits a fixed spot near a connection, without tank changes. Ceramic charcoal grills offer smoke flavor and low-and-slow cooking. Electric suits places where flames aren't allowed.
Can a freestanding grill be built into an island later?
Most cart grills aren't designed for this. Brands here also offer their heads as built-ins. If an island may come later, choose a built-in head and matching cart now; one brand sells them separately. Call us and we will talk it through.
