Contempo square firetable: a low 44-inch square slab with a tapered base
The American Fyre Designs Contempo square firetable is a low square table, 44 inches on each side and 15.5 inches tall, with a thick slab top that overhangs a slightly tapered box base. It is cast in glass fiber reinforced concrete, which looks like stone at a fraction of the weight, and comes in seven colors.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Turn the knob and press the igniter to light it, or add the Fyrestarter Bluetooth control and start it from your phone. A 12-inch stainless steel star burner sits in a small square pan at the center. The burner, pan, fittings, and lava granules are included, and you pick the fill on the page: lava, fire glass, or glass gems. A glass wind guard, a concrete cover, and a side table that hides a propane tank are optional. Need a longer table? See the Contempo rectangle firetable. The Contempo square firetable ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What does the Contempo Square measure?
The top is 44 inches by 44 inches, and the table stands 15.5 inches tall. Equal sides mean equal seats: no one ends up at a head or a foot, and the table presents the same face in every direction. The low height keeps it in coffee-table territory, sized to center a four-sided arrangement of lounge chairs without dominating the patio.
Why go square instead of rectangular in the Contempo line?
Symmetry. A rectangle assumes sofas in facing rows; a square serves seating on all four sides equally, which is exactly how most four-chair conversation sets want to arrange themselves. It also sits better in square spaces – a squared patio or deck bay – where a long table would strand leftover room at each end. Among square fire pit designs, the Contempo is the strict modernist.
What flame pattern does the Contempo Square produce?
Its 12-inch stainless steel star burner throws flame from a central point rather than along a line, so the fire builds as one full cluster dead center. That leaves an even margin of tabletop on all four sides – a consistent border of usable surface between the flame and every seat, no matter which side of the square you claim.
Is propane or natural gas the better fit for this table?
Whichever your site already favors. The Contempo Square comes in natural gas and propane versions: natural gas rewards patios with an existing or easily extended line, while propane serves spaces where trenching a line is not worth it. The burner, dimensions, and finish do not change between versions, so let the fuel infrastructure – not the table – make the call.
Can four people share the Contempo Square comfortably?
That is its sweet spot. With 44 inches per side, each chair faces its own full edge of the table – room for a drink and a plate in front of every seat without reaching across a neighbor. The equal spacing does something subtle for the mood, too: everyone sits the same distance from the fire and from each other, so no chair feels secondary.
Where should a square fire table sit on a patio?
Give it the middle of its seating group rather than an edge. A square table is designed to be approached from all four sides, so pushing it against a wall wastes half its geometry – that is a job for a rectangle. Center it in the conversation area, square it up with the patio’s dominant lines, and leave passage room behind each chair.
Are square fire tables still in style?
Firmly. The square format tracks with the last decade of outdoor design – modular seating, cast concrete, clean geometry – and the Contempo’s minimalist detailing keeps it current rather than trendy. Shapes cycle out of fashion fastest when they carry ornament; a plain square in weather-resistant GFRC has very little on it to date.
