DuraVent DirectVent Pro Chimney Liner Termination Kit: joins two chimney liners to one cap
The DuraVent DirectVent Pro Chimney Liner Termination Kit is a connector and cover plate for the top of an old chimney. The connector joins two flexible liners to one cap. The plate closes the chimney top and is sealed to the masonry. This setup serves a direct vent insert in a masonry or factory built fireplace. Two separate aluminum liners run alongside each other, carrying exhaust up and outside air down. DirectVent Pro is DuraVent’s pipe inside a pipe vent for direct vent gas fireplaces and stoves: exhaust goes out through the inner pipe and outside air comes in through the outer pipe.
Choose a 3 inch or 4 inch exhaust connection. Both versions take a 3 inch air liner. The cap, liners, and connectors at the insert are sold separately. The kit must be listed for use with your insert. Roof flashings are chosen by roof slope and need a storm collar, a ring above the flashing sealed to the pipe with non hardening sealant. Need an 18 by 18 inch flashing instead? See the DuraVent DirectVent Pro Chimney Liner Termination Kit 2. The DuraVent DirectVent Pro Chimney Liner Termination Kit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is in the DirectVent Pro Chimney Liner Termination Kit?
A Termination Connector and a Top-Plate Flashing, the parts that sit on top of an existing chimney and join two flexible liners to a DirectVent Pro cap. The termination cap, the 3-inch flex and the co-linear flex connectors at the appliance are sold separately. Choose the 4 x 6 or 3 x 4 inch option on the selector to suit the insert’s outlets.
What is a co-linear direct vent system?
Instead of one coaxial pipe, two separate flexible liners run up the old masonry or zero-clearance chimney: one carries exhaust, the other brings combustion air down to the insert. At the top this kit’s connector merges them into a co-axial termination cap; at the bottom co-linear flex connectors or a co-axial to co-linear adapter attach them to the insert.
Is this kit approved for my insert?
Only if the appliance manufacturer lists it: DuraVent states the chimney liner termination kit must be tested and listed with each appliance, so the insert manual has to name the DirectVent Pro co-linear system and cap. Clearances, maximum liner length and the approved cap (standard or high wind) all come from that manual.
How is the flex run up the chimney?
Per DuraVent’s chimney liner instructions, a flex puller and rope draw each liner up through the damper and flue; if one length is too short a flex coupling joins two with four sheet metal screws. Do not let the liner sag or kink. Leave 2 to 3 inches of flex above the chimney top, fit the top plate over both liners, then attach the connector and cap.
Can I use it in a factory-built chimney as well as masonry?
Yes, DuraVent’s instructions cover installation in a masonry chimney or a zero-clearance factory-built chimney, provided the insert manual permits it. DuraVent also sells a factory-built reline kit that bundles the high-wind cap, flex and clamps for that case; all the co-linear parts are in the DirectVent Pro category.
Does the liner need sealant or screws?
The flex attaches to the connectors and any coupling with sheet metal screws, and the top plate is sealed to the chimney crown with non-hardening sealant so weather stays out. The DirectVent Pro pipe joints themselves need no sealant unless the appliance manufacturer specifies it. Have the old chimney inspected and cleaned before the liners go in.
