The Golden Designs Kaarina is a six person outdoor traditional sauna that looks like a little barn. It has a pitched tile roof and a cream colored exterior made to stand up to rain and sun. The interior is all Canadian red cedar. A bronze tinted glass door and a tall window let in the light. It takes up about 69 by 84 inches of patio space, plus a little more for the roof overhang.
A Harvia 8 kW stove heats the room to 170 to 185 degrees. Ladle water over the stones when you want steam. Inside you get a starry ceiling light, a control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth, speakers, and a sandglass timer, bucket, and scoop. The shell is 69 x 84 in with a 95 in peak; add 4 in on every side for the tiled roof overhang. Inside it is 63 x 78 in with 88 in of headroom on Canadian red cedar benches for six. Assembled weight is 1,425 lbs, so plan the pad and the path from the curb accordingly.
The page and the owner’s manual agree: a 240 V / 40 A circuit for the Harvia 8 kW stove plus a 120 V / 15 A supply for the control panel, lighting and music. A certified licensed electrician must hardwire it with 90 C rated copper wire and a breaker sized to local code; aluminum wire and extension cords are not allowed.
Four adults are recommended. The manual has two adults set the floor and rear wall, two to four lift the larger side walls on this six-person model, and three to four raise the two roof sections before the tiles and stainless flange go back on. Only a Phillips or battery screwdriver is needed; the stove wiring goes to an electrician.
Yes, the vanilla creme all-weather exterior is designed for rain and sun and the interior is natural cedar. The manual expects some water seepage that dries with use, recommends a rain cover when the sauna is idle, and warns that cedar greys within one to two years without a UV protectant. Keep the vents clear and never use it in a storm.
Heat the room with the Harvia stove to the ideal 170-185 F (190 F maximum), then ladle water from the included bucket with the included scoop over the stones for steam. Follow Harvia’s instructions for stone placement and care. The manual limits sessions to 40 minutes and asks for an hour of downtime after every four hours of operation.

Per the owner’s manual, Golden Designs covers the wood structure (when properly maintained), the control panel, its harnesses and the lights for five years from purchase for the original owner at the original site, parts only. The Harvia stove is covered by Harvia’s own warranty. Mail the warranty card within 60 days; modifications and weather damage from lack of protection are excluded.
Buyer may cancel and return the goods to Manufacturer, subject to the terms and conditions oft his policy. Buyer shall assume all risk of loss associated with the return as well as shipping, handling, restocking and other fees, costs and expenses as described in this policy. Orders must be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase and all returns must be processed within 30 days of delivery.
Golden Designs reserves the right to refuse to refund any deposit or payment, or cancel any payment due, and any owing until such time as Manufacture a) is in receipt of the goods b) has inspected the goods and c) in the Manufactures discretion, has found the goods to be free of damage. All refunds will be provided within 5 business days once the product has been returned to the warehouse and inspected for damage
All returned goods must be in their original packaging. Seller may refuse to refund all or any portion of any payment, or cancel payment due and owing if the Buyer fails to fully comply with or violates the terms and conditions of this policy.
All cancelled orders and/or returned goods shall be subject to the following: a) storage fees and costs associated with routing the goods; b) handling and restocking fee of 20% of the total purchase for each sauna; c) all shipping costs to and from the Manufacture, and; d) a return merchandise authorization (RMA)number provided by Norse Steam. Buyer’s failure to obtain the RMA number shall result in Manufacture not accepting any returned shipment and Buyer paying all costs and fees. All such costs and fees as determined by Manufacturer shall be paid by Buyer to Norse Steam upon demand by Norse Steam

I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
